Didn't work, TRS is aborted. No attack to Algiers...

Now I will say it, I should have used all 4 points to choose surface combat.

NAV has 40% chance to find, sub has 50% chance to find. Should we keep sub out of the combat as long as NAV is flying?

NAV causes 2D 2A if we negate AA. D can be placed on TRS and A on CP.

Sub receives D even if we use all points to decrease damage.

I think NAV attacks?

Or is it worth abort one CP? It means one less PP if turn ends, but also leaves 19 CP's to sea area and lowers our odds to find next round.

The choice depends on search percentage. Putting an A on one of the 9 defence CA's reduces the AA and ASW for next round, if we get one. Bird in hand and all that.

What do you think AllenK, should we go first?

I would say yes. CW has no CA's in Bay of Biscay box 0. Italy can fly NAV2 to box 1 and Germany intercepts with 6 and 5 point fighters and maybe even 4 point fighter to box 1. Next impulse we can fly Italian ATR (to initiate combat), German NAV3 and German 6 point fighter to box 2.

In Spain we can push south so that CW has less mountain hexes to defend and in north Germany forms a line to hold CW forces where they are. I'm happy they put Mech to Bilbao. Germany also takes those two ports in NW Spain. We can even put one Spanish INF in south OOS.

Germany rebases bombers south for next impulse.

If we find in Bay of Biscay, I think we should attack high box before next FTR3 comens to cover it.

I thought the object was the unescorted CP's? We would kick ourselves if, having engaged the 3-box, we failed to find again.

Unescorted, but cover by 6 and 5 point Spitfires. Air to air combat vs 6 point Spitfire is more difficult than 1 point Swordfish. And if we sink/damage CV or other ships that means BP losses. I bet their 5 point Beaufighter will fly to box 3 next impulse to cover CV.

I counted 9 CP's in UK and Gibraltar. They can cover some losses but not all if we get lucky.

And next impulse when they bring more forces we can initiate combat again.

I'm just saying we should hit CV now when Beaufighter is not there and hit convoys rest of the turn. Let's see if we find anything [:)]

Who should play naval combat? You have some naval moves to do I think. CP's in Cape St Vincent are not well protected.

If you play, Germany takes land action. And when combat begins in Bay of Biscay (Italian NAV in box 1) 3 German fighters (6, 5 and 4 points) from Bordeaux area intercepts.

We could keep our options open by sending the Italian 4-3 range sub to the 1-box as well.

Sounds good, initiate combat with NAV and keep sub in bottom for future impulses.

Plan was that next impulse Germany sends NAV and FTR (rebased from Germany) to box 2. Would it be smarter to intercept that NAV also to box 1 now as it is quite easy to cause damage this impulse?
