while we are waiting for Oleg's turn...
for anyone that cares, the pbem save files we are sending around have all been around 60 to 64 kbytes. very small and quick to email.
Great! I wonder if there is any chance of this shipping with PBEM Helper support?

I have to say, of all the games I have owned which supported PBEM, I never was big on it, but my attitude is quickly changing based on what I'm reading here...

We are not happy with our turn. But we did learn the value of the SUPPLIES. Luckily we had some available, but not nearly enough. With so many things to move we simply run out of the supply points by the end of our movement&attack phase!
We had to move Siberian divisions via Transsiberian railroad to Europe. We had to evacuate factories from Belorussia and Ukraine (yes, it's possible to move factories, which is historical but it's costly). We also had to move our units into desired positions. During these movements we run out of friggen supply points (also railway transport points). Opening turns are hectic for dreamy, semi frozen RU player...
Research is just about the last thing on our collective communist minds right now....
(note to self: stockpile supplies! lots of supplies!)
(note to MB - I'll quote Warren Zevon again, just because it seems like a cool thing to do: "Send lawyers guns and money, the s*it has hit the fan!" [:D])
Picture: Siberians are coming! Hurrah!

Picture: Factories being moved to behind the Urals (paullus, don't worry - what's shown on the picture is not the final location [:D])
Later during the turn we moved into Persia (Iran) and occupied it with dozen or so units from Central Asian Military District. Perhaps our Western Allies won't be too happy with that, if they planed on getting Persia themselves, but we really have no choice. Since German made much better progress on the north, we must make pressure to the south, hopefully destroying his forces in the Middle East and Caucasus in the foreseeable future.
PS. Stuff to discuss on the dev board: I think Karelia/Murmansk region fell too easy.

Why would you want lawyers? Meat armour?

Add this to my unfocussed offensive efforts and I think I was feeling the same frustration during almost every Japanese Turn. I ripped through what I thought was a decent pile of supplies in two turns once the battle was joined. I just didn't pay nearly enough attention to how expensive it is to move naval assets.
Supplies and Resources are HUGE in this game. During the last three turns I built nothing but supplies and by then it was too late.

I saw it, but thought Sturdy Soviet Infantryman (SSI) can survive with less [:D]
Now you know what to do [8D]:

I don't know, we Soviets are under impressions you Americans can solve ANY problem with enough lawyers on your side [:D]
BTW, does German player still have to send you his turn? Or directly to me? We'll see I guess.

I'll do my turn after the hockey game, but one thing i just noticed...
i was hoping to bring the 8 JA FActories online (it would cost 8x10=80 supply) and then i noticed that Captured Factories only have a poduction muliplier of x1. that means if i spend 10 supply to repair a factory the next two turns would be spent producing supply, and it would be the 3rd turn before i could put the factory to productive (if 1 production a turn is productive) use. i thought they would have a x3 multiplier, oh well, glad i noticed before i soaked all those supply into them.

You know, that's a very good question - we'll have to wait and see....I'll re-run the turn after I save it to see who's password it asks for.
Time to get dirty...........

Not counting the Partisan factor.
Actually, now that I think about it, does JA have any partisan activity after surrender?

Fall 1942, Western Allies
I sent (Lend Leased) Russia 20 Supply this turn, and focused on laying new convoy routes.
while all the Pacific Fleets started moving to the Atlantic, there were enough in the Atlantic to come ashore and liberate Vichy France:

Victory conditions (which are based entirely on production capabilities) are very demanding of the Allied player(s), so nothing is "out of the question".
Based on current, *alpha* rules and victory conditions, we are in the region of "draw" right now, quote: "If at the end of the Oct 45 turn, Allied production is between 2 and 4 times Axis production, the game is a draw". Allied production is currently 2,42 times Axis production.
Of course, Axis has to keep things this way till Oct 45 to get a draw... Impossible? We'll see.
