I adjusted my British bombers to strike the airfield at Kweiyang today. Came up roses destroying fighters and recon planes on the ground.

His Nells out of Rangoon are flying again...they hit a resupply shop at Andaman Island.

He has landed troops on tiny Kiriwina Island...I may have to fix that :P

Another mostly quiet day..which of course benefits me.

Xargun, tired of seeing P-40s prowling the skies of Lanchow took a poke at the airbase there overnight...no hits.

I hit Kweiyang with my British air force in China today...did 10 runway hits and shot up a number of recon and bombers on the ground.

The 11th BG (B-17) ran a small raid over Palmebang doing a couple of oil hits.

I think he finally noticed the Australians at Gili...he ran an ineffective Betty raid against them.

My British air struck Kweiyang for a second day causing more Runway hits. Zeros were defending the airfield today..time to switch targets again.

He swept in and shot the hell out of a bunch of Hurricanes again. Time to surpress that Rangoon airfield methinks.

THe air over Lanchow is a very danger place for him to send dive bombers in with only Nates covering him. 15 Japanese planes fell to the guns of the 24th FG (C).

Koepang Hudson's caught and blasted an AK bearing fuel off Timor...

I think he is tired of losing planes over Lanchow...today he sent a Zero fighter sweep in. We exchanged aircraft.

I sent my Akyab airforce back in to shoot of Rangoon this morning...8 runway hits...cost me a couple of aircraft though.

He shot down six more hurricanes over Pagan.

I sent part of the 11th BG (B-17s) to Singapore and struck the Battleship Ise with two bombs.

My Beaufighters at Koepang put a torpedo into an AK of Dili (Timor).

Been a few days since I have done this...my apologies...Xargun sent out several turns on sunday and I thought it was more important to process them then write about my notes :)...here you go.

4-26-42

West Coast

I have another big transport group loading up with the 40th RCT they will go to Pearl.

The 161st RCT and the 47th FG (P-39s)is about 3 days out of Pearl.

The 2nd Marines are also about 3 days out of Pearl.

The USS Idaho and escorts continue for Pearl.

Midway

Midway remains solid.

Pearl Harbor

USS Long Beach Is making ASW patrols Northeast of Pearl hoping to clear the seas of any submarines that might jump on the inbound transport groups.

I have ordered West Virgina and Maryland to depart Pearl and head towards San Francisco. I have seen very very little submarine activity northeast of Pearl and feel like I can get both these heavies back to the west coast. I have 5 destroyers escorting them.

Lexington (11 sys ) In pearl rearming.

Saratoga 31 Sys but 13 float. In Pearl Repairing.

Canton Island

Building up Canton...trying to get more supplies to Baker.

Hornet Racing to catch up with the RN Indomitable and Hermes.

Indomitable and Hermes Are headed towards Lunga at top speed to intervene in a possible enemy landing there.

Alaska

No news.

Sea of Japan

No sign of his carriers.

China

Nothing new to report.

Burma
I have close to 200 heavy bombers prepped at the airfield of Dacca. They will hit Rangoon for 2 days Raheng for a day and then transfer to Chungking for strikes against the Imperial Army in China.

Malaya

Is his.

DEI

Ny Beaufighters struck and AK off Timor...I think he is either funneling in troops and supplies to his forces there.

Australia

Nothing new.

PM

I havent seen much in the way of air action from him here. I am clueless to what he is doing.

Noumea

Secure

PI

Just bits and pieces left.

Solomon Islands

I patiently await his forces. MY intel reported one of his base units was training for Lunga. No sign of them yet. I will have 3 carriers in the area soon...we will see.

19 days until Illustrious

80 days until Wasp

172 days until Nassau

I await the arrival of his forces at Lunga. I have enough combat troops and airpower to contest any landing short of a division. I have overworked Hornet, Hermes, and Indomitable as well as 4 Royal Navy Battleships steaming towards Lunga. It could get loud if he actually shows up.

16,000 Xargunite troops died or were wounded in fighting around Lanchow. This is the single greatest amount of causalties I have ever seen in game...he may eventually take Lanchow...but the price I am extracting ...absolutely brillant!

On the other hand if numbers are to be believed he wiped out British airpower in Burma...shooting down 38 bombers over Rangoon.

1st Lt Wirth of the 24th FG (C) scored 5 kills today over China bringing his number up to 19 Japanese planes downed.

I find it curious that for the 2nd day in a row...none of my American heavies flew out of Dacca. Today it cost the British heavily. Im sure the game has adjusted my attack settings somehow...dammit.

Hmmm not sure here. NO reason I can see why they are not flying...plenty of supplies (50K plus) big enough field level 5...plenty of support (300 plus)...I should see winged death over Rangoon...yet...I dont..typical.

Now I get to withdraw my British air...to let them rebuild and Xargun gets to crow about a great air victory.

Well heck...old Xarg opened the day with a naval bombardment of Baker Island. SO goes all that naval search I have been flying...of course all my carriers are well out of range (Sara laid up, Lexington at Pearl and Hornet steaming to Guadalcanal).

I struck his airfield at Sian, mostly because it was an opportunity to strike him where I knew he didnt have a lot of fighter CAP.

My American heavy bombers got into the air over Rangoon today...if the report is to be believed I shot down 10 zeros while losing double that in bombers and fighters....one never knows...what I do know is I killed 400 Xargunites on the ground did 41 runway hits and 17 airbase hits and that makes up for yesterdays abomination.

West Coast

Formed another task force to carry troops and aircraft, sadly they will go out unescorted...but I have been raising hell with Xarg's subs lately and feel like the threat is somewhat dimished north of Pearl.

Midway

Midway remains solid.

Pearl Harbor

USS Long Beach Is making ASW patrols Northeast of Pearl hoping to clear the seas of any submarines that might jump on the inbound transport groups.

Lexington (11 sys ) I have formed a new air combat group around Lexington. I will be sending her in the general direction of Baker Island...If old Xargun is planning more raids...or better yet landings I hope to get her in place to interupt them.

Saratoga 30 Sys but 0 float. In Pearl Repairing.

Canton Island

He surprised me with his bombardment of Baker...it did eradicate my small supply build up there. Back to air transport of it until I can get a merchant ship in.

Alaska

No news.

Sea of Japan

No sign of his carriers.

China

The air war continues..he tried night bombing at Lanchow, but my fighters are long gone...for now :).

Burma

Heavy air battles over Rangoon...according to the reports he killed 38 planes in the air today while I got 10...I however killed 55 on the ground...I have little doubt most of those were in Rangoon. Unfortuntely, my American heavy bombers are wrecked morale wise (he put up a ton of fighters) so I will have to withdraw them to Ceylon once again.

I did cause about 25 damage to his airfield...he has over 60 fighters and 100 plus aux (likely bombers) there now. I will strike it again today (hopefully) with another 100 plus bombers out of Dacca. I am attempting to discouraging him from basing his bombers at Rangoon so I can resupply Akyab....part of that limited spring offensive :).

Malaya

Is his.

DEI

Nothing new to report.

Australia

Mostly rearranging air units

PM

Gili came online today ...I moved a group of Beaufighters there.

Noumea

Secure

PI

Just bits and pieces left.

Solomon Islands

I patiently await his forces. MY intel reported one of his base units was training for Lunga. No sign of them yet. I will have 3 carriers in the area soon...we will see.

MY British bombers kicked off strategic bombing month with strikes against the heavy industry of Sian doing 4 damage....it will be interesting to see how Xargun responds to these strikes.

The 11th and 5th BGs (B17s) both hit Rangoon this evening...doing 18 Runway hits killing about 120 of his troopers. I went with a high level raid (33K) Less effective but maybe it will allow me to sustain a longer campaign against Rangoon.

Slow day overall...the way we like them :).

Shanghai?? How did you manage to get bombers all the way to there? (And this early in the war, too.)

Bad night for my ASW forces as one of his subs struck the Destroyer Lamson with a torpedo.

MY first indication of his intent at Guadalcanal. 30 Betty bombers made their first strike against Lunga overnight.

Apparently he didnt enjoy the airstrike at Shanghai...he bombed the airfields of CHungking where I staged the Liberators out of...did quite a bit of damage.

Those Liberators joined the 7th BG (B-17s) and attacked Hong Kong today doing 26 HI hits.

He has stepped up his air campaign against Batavia making 2 raids against it in the morning...my guess is that is his next DEI target for invasion.

He sent his Nells out to Raid Derby causing some damage to a minesweeper in port there.

I sent more B17s into Rangoon during the evening on a high level raid...very ineffective.

A busy day in the air compared to yesterday.

Xargun is getting rather tired of the air war in Burma...he took an overnight poke at my B17 base in Dacca..his raid was ineffective.

He also struck Moresby with night bombers out of truck destroying a Kittyhawk.

My British air continues to pay a heavy price over Rangoon...he knocked down 15 to 20 planes in the morning raid. The Americans followed up the British with better results doing 11 more runway hits and a couple of supply.

I wonder if he has accepted that Lanchow just isnt going to roll over..he hasnt made much in the way of aggressive offensive moves since he lost 16K worth of his Xargunites in that one battle.

West Coast

2 More Task forces have departed the West Coast. One full of fuel for Australia...the other full of troops that will ultimately end up either in the South Pacific or Tarawa. I think I have finally minimized his submarine threat in this area. The cost was very heavy...live and learn.

Midway

Midway remains solid.

Pearl Harbor

USS Long Beach Continues to make ASW patrols north of Pearl to help inbound convoys. For the first time in as long as I can remember I have no subs sited in either Pearl or the West Coast operating areas.

Saratoga 29 Sys. In Pearl Repairing.

Canton Island

Lexington (11 sys ) Is operating northeast of Baker Island. If his warships make an appearance I would like to surprise him...otherwise they are guarding inbound convoys (Baker) for the troops here.

Alaska

No news.

Sea of Japan

No sign of his carriers.

China

I have begun to move American heavy bomber groups into the area and launching them against his industry and manpower. I know its forcing him to leave fighters everywhere, which is good, but I still watch the morale of my heavy groups drop like a rock after a day or two of missions. Low level bombing missions Id understand, but much of my heavy bombing is from 35K...let's just be glad these pilots aren't in Europe.

Burma

I am very please with my air war in Burma. They took some heavy losses (over Rangoon) but it diverted a lot of Xargun's fighters to protect Rangoon. It also allowed me to get in and resupply Andaman. I have 2 resupply groups headed towards Akyab currently. Once they get close I will again strike Rangoon hard and often. Today however I am going to strike his fighter base at Raheng which has become quite an irritant.

May is a very good month to be British. Massive upgrades of aircraft types.

Malaya

Is his.

DEI

Nothing new to report.

Australia

I am shifting some transport ships to Northern Australia. I have the 6th Australian coming around the corner..I intend to land them at Timor. I also intend to take back the islands of Tenibar, Aru and Kai. I'm sure he will notice :).

I have managed to build up a huge supply and fuel base in Australia. So much so that I will concentrate my shipping efforts in the Central and South Pacific for months if not a year or so.

PM

All's quiet. I have shift a new squadron of Beaufighters in to give the other group a chance to rest.

Noumea

Secure

PI

Just bits and pieces left.

Solomon Islands

I have 3 carriers in the area. I am sending another resupply convoy (from Auckland) here..but they are a good week or so away. No raids from his Bettys today..but we will see.

Hornet Steaming south of Lunga with the British.

Indomitable and Hermes Steaming south of Lunga with the Americans.

More high level bombing...this time over Hong Kong as my heavies struck his manpower centers for 7 points.

Xarg's Oil center of Amboina felt B17 raids doing at least 1 hit.

I also struck Rahaeng with an 80 bomber raid in attempt to put his fighter field out of commission.

My Dutch torpedo bombers made a nuissance out of their sevles off Kendari attacking a couple of his ASW destroyers.

Sorry for the lack of updates. I believe old Xarg has just been insanely busy as of late (I got one turn last week). He is now on vacation for the next couple of weeks. So...we are suspended until he returns.

We're back [&o]

I started the morning off with a nice night raid on Rangoon. Less effective then daylight bombing but I hope it will also help with the incessantly bad morale of my heavy bomber crews.

When we last left off Xargun was attempting to shut down my heavy bomber bases in China. Today's raid against Yunan caused some damage to the airbase byt nothing serious.

My RAAF out of PM struck another one of his transport groups off of Lae killing about 30 Xargunites.

The siege of Lanchow continues. I hope I have made this a place where Xargunites fear to go...sorta like the Russian front ;).

Another night of bombing for rangoon did around 6 runway hits...nothing major..but we will keep at it.

He struck at Lunga hard today...in the air his fighters brought down 4 of mine...for just one of his planes. He struck at Lunga once before...and then backed off. It will be interesting to see what he does now.

My ASW forces are getting quit good...attacking no less then 5 of his submarines around Hawaii.
