AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 05/02/42

Quite incredible. Today 20,000 men ( mostly CW troops), held the assault of 230,000 japanese!!![X(]
Losses were heavy but their sacrifice gave time for the bulk of my troops to retreat safely towards Sosarbaja. Tomorrow Hawker will conquer Medioen, but my troops will be already out of the town[;)]. One more day gained![8D]

In China, we hope in the next 2 weeks to destroy the 13th Ind Bde and to drain the supplies of those 100,000 japanese trapped north of Changsha[8D]. For the moment we're limiting ourself to some bombardment runs....we need to gain experience! Let's see what he wanna do to change his horrible chinese situation.

Russian defences are ready. 2 Fireestinguisher groups will be placed between Vladivostok and Imam. I'll try not to concentrate much my air force ( remember Java).
It's gonna be real fun!

Score is 14,000 Japs
6,200 Allies.

Not bad at all...

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 05/04/42

After few days of holyday i'm back into action!

The situation in Java looks worse every day. His BBs destroy everything and i have nothing to oppose to them[:(]. In one week probably Java will fall. ( Medioen has been conquered empty on the 3rd of May). Only Sosarbaja is still holding, but supplies are getting low and his BBs are killing my support units[:@].

In Burma, at Moulmein, my chinese units, supported by the Burma Bdes of the Burma Corp HQ are gaining experience bombing his 33rd and 55th Divisions, supported by some RAF hurricanes and some Lysanders. Moulmein and Rangoon are now at level 9 forts with plenty of supplies and reserve units[:D].

In China we managed to create another pocket, north east of Changsha, wher 17 japanese units have been sorrounded and are now bombed every day by my Y' Force Army ( see map).
The 13th Ind. Bde has now only 3000 men able to fight, with no guns left....soon it will be no more[8D].

Nothing new in the pacific...

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 05/05/42

While the fate of my "EAGLE OPERATION" ( the holding on in Java) is already written, the allied forces keep on fighting in the Asian Continent. Today, despite i sent in my heavy bombers to arras the 4th Jap Division, the dreaded yellows managed to open the pocket north east of Changsha, pushing back the chinese corp that was closing the eastern door of the envelop. This doesn't change much the operative situation in the Chinese Theatre. Changsha and my southern positions are pretty safe and with the opening of the Russian theatre in few days i doubt there will be much more offensive action in China for what concerns japan.

Around Brisbane the ASW keep on going well. Another japanese sub spotted and promtly sunk by my american DDs.

New Caledonia is now a great fortress and Lungaville is growing too at a good pace. The whole pacific looks quiet and calm. No enemy activities here.

In the Northern Sector my positions keep on growing. Soon we'll be able to launch a counteroffensive in this area.

In Burma another 3 victories for my Hurricanes over Moulmein. His oscars on LRCAP simply cannot stand the match.

In The map you can see the best aces of the allied powers ( as you can see we used everything we had[:D] to stop the japanese advance)

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 05/07/42

Here we are, back on pace!

In Java things are growing worse every day. There's no hope against those BBs....today we lost another 6,000 men[:o]....however now it's clear that he won't have at his disposal these 45 units for the russian campaign which will be starting in 2 days. I'm sweating like a damn pig thinking about the risk i'm facing here...
There are some 50 japanese units on my borders....i'd say something like 10,000 Assault points. As usual the key will be the sky. If my fighters manage to keep Vladivostok operational and my 4Es manage to strike back i can probably hold. If not....i'm lost[:(]. I won't put all my eggs in one basket at the beginning. 450 fighters will defend Vladivostok at the first days. I won't place any bomber here. I'll create some rear bases in the back so that i'll be able to keep on fighting if Vladivostok falls. 100 british fighters, 70 american ones and some 200 british and american bombers will join the red allies during the first week of operations. 5,000 APs will defend the Southern sectors, divided in 3 armies. Some britihs torpedo bombers will try to keep his fleets away from my coasts.
Nothing more i can do about it....only wait and pray.

In China we won't be able to mount a counterattack before the beginning of the summer, even if the situation looks good.

Probably in Burma we'll be able to do something untill he's underpowered here....let's see.

Thanks Pauk![:D] Yes, we're already working on our turn[8D]

Guys...1 more day and Mother Russia will be invaded...Everything is ready. The most modern russian fighters have been allerted. Every single man knows what to do...if he crushes me here, there's no hope for the allies to win this war!!!

Sosarbaja was hit again by his BBs...Medang fell and now Sosarbaja will be sieged withing the next 3 days....150,000 men lost for good[:(].

Anyway, not only bad news![:D]
The 13th Japanese Indipendent Bde has been destroyed, following the fate of her sister ( the 12th Ind Bde). This is the second major japanese unit kicked out of the game[8D]: a good result, especially for my morale!
Now 1200 more APs are free to be moved Towards the positions for the upcomming chinese counteroffensive[;)].

In Burma the Wellingtons started to operate from Rangoon, under the cover of 20 hurricanes. We'll bomb the 33rd and the 55th divisions to pieces[:)]

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 05/09/42

We're ready:tomorrow the Russian Empire will be invaded!.
I'm really scared. Airball over Vladivostok says -303 -_-'' That means he's gonna put in more than 800 fighters....too many..too many :-((((

However, the western allies are coming. 96 4Es bombers and more 140 2Es ( American, British and Canadian) are being transfered in these hours from China and Alaska to Russia. Some more 120 fighters ( a mix of US,Cnd and UK) too. In one week we should be able to threaten northern Japan and inland Manchuria with our strategic bombings. Russian bombers with their limited range, will provide ground support and some AF attacks, while Russian fighters will play on defence, the western fighters will try to escort and sweep some japanese bases.

It will all depends on how long can my ground forces hold the ground....

Tomorrow will be the decisive day. If he closes Vladivostok's AF at the first day the whole campaign will be seriously in danger of becoming a disaster...

hold your breaths....

Odd, Hawker has lost more planes as Japan in May 1942 than Mogami playing Japan lost till January 1943.

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 05/11/42

Well, 2 days has passed since Japan declared war on Russia.
Nothing happened in the skies. The dreaded storm hasn't arrived yet. Hawker claims for a bug cause his planes doesn't take off from Mutakiang, but i don't think it's that strange. Happened many times to me too. He's has indeed overstacked his AF. Look at the map: more than 1200 planes on a level 5 AF!!!!![X(][:-][:-].
However, i told him that if he wants a break to send the file to someone who really understands the code we can halt our game for a while...

In the meanwhile the Russian air forces started to hit back. Some Oil industries have been destroyed and my IL2s are arrasing his troops on the borders. Tomorrow we'll try to hit Japan with some B-17s....[8D]

24 units have already passed the border. My army groups have been activated. 440 fighters ( level 9 AF![;)]) are patrolling Vladivostok's skies and sme beauforts with Catalinas are guarding the sea between Russia and Japan. American, British and Canadian fighters are regrouping in the north of Siberia.

Hawker has something like 330 fighters at Mutakiang to escort his bombers and to provide some CAP. That means that my CAP over Vlad should have 2-1 superiority in terms of fighters...not bad!

Let's see.

In China he retreated his Army N-E of Changsha. The 3rd Japanese Division was a bit late and my Y' force Army managed to push it back, even if with heavy losses. Now i gained back some freedom of movements in the Changsha area...very well!!

I am suprised that Hawker put so many planes into an L5 airbase and then expected to smash you.

Aside from the over stacking issue it is very easy for bad weather to shut a base down. Multiple bases are more likely to fly something, and more efficient too.

But if he want's to put all his eggs in one basket that is his perogative. It makes for a great start for you though, nothing like haveing 1300 enemy planes watching the battle from the sidelines while yours fly.

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 05/12/42

So finally the attack has arrived. But wasn't a storm. Just few drops of rain[:D].
He moved his nates and oscars to another base( Seikoshin) and ordered to sweep Valdivostok. Probably he left his zeros with the bombers at Mutakiang which is still OVERSTACKED ( more than 800 planes spotted there today! ). None of the bombers took off and so the zeros from Mutak. His oscars and Nates have been annihilated by my CAP ( which was less than what planeed anyway!). 230 enemy planes shot down against 40 of mines![:D]. I have many new russian aces now[8D] ( one with 9 kills!. The Mig-3 performed very very well, while the Lags aren't that good.
Then my Bombers started to hit the advancing japanese divisions 60 miles north of Vladivostok. A very interesting training camp[:)].
Hawker said it's buggy because the unit he attacked north of Vladivostok hasn't retreated. I told him that it's a static unit ( a regional CD fortress) and it cannot retreat. He simply needs some more time to destry it, then the road towards Vladivostok will be open for his armies.
None of my 4Es took off today in Russia, despite exelent weather, supply and support levels ok....

In Java 250,000 Japanese started today the final battle for Sosarbaja. Land bombardments are doing their Job. In one-2 weeks the campaign will be over here.

Everything is ready at Darwin to start the bombing campaign of Souther DEI[8D].

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 05/13/42

Wow! This Russian campaign started really in a good way![8D]
After the great battle of yesterday, where my fighters with the red star made a turkey shot of the japanese planes, today the allies managed to inflict the first punch ( even if only a morale one) to the Evil Empire of Japan. The northern Island has been bombed by a squadron of american B-17s, just arrived from Alaska. Only 1 HI has been hit, but 10 strategic points are scored and now Hawker is forced to deploy some of his precious zeros to defend the homeland![;)].
At the same time, some more mixed bombing formations attacked the oil plants in Manchuria and, in the other side of the map, Ambonia is hit by a couple of 4Es from Darwin[:D].
350,000 japanese soldiers managed to destroy the regional fortress north of Vlad and now are marching towards my Siberian Capital, under a costant umbrella of russian bombers ( IL-2 and Pe-2) that are interdicting their path. My 5th Mech Army is entering in these hours into Vladivostok. Soon the great battle for Vlad will start!

At Sosarbaja my hopes are gone forever. A combo of naval and air bombardments, with a deliberate attack, put down a fort and reduced a lot my fighting capabilities....no way to hold him longer than a week here!

More reinforcements arrived today at Karachi: 1 British Bde, 1 Canadian Bde and one Indian Division....i gotta be ready to face the possible threat of an Indian Invasion once Java campaign will be over....

Well i'd wait some time before saying that. 350,000 men are a lot and if he finally manages to put up in the air his bombers and zeros it's gonna be damned hard to hold Vladivostok and so the southern Siberia.
However the actual picture doesn't look so grim. He has lost a LOT of time in Java because of my suicide strategy and his KB has been damaged ( even if lightly).
He hasn't conquered Burma and in China he's already on the defensive.
I have not lost what i wanted to hold in the pacific and my CV fleet is intact.

Not bad so far
