That can be tricky. Usually, the "Unload" followed by "Do Not Unload" doesn't work. The TF keeps loading despite those efforts. What I have to do is to click on the "Adjust Load Troops Only" or "Adjust Load Troops" and manually click on the green "Loading" text beside the unit. That and only that actually stops the loading. This is a tricky matter that really messed me up until I figured out how to handle it.

Odd? It always works for me.

But as long as your TF eventually does what you tell it to do instead of spinning in port forever...

Eric has lost a lot of Judys lately. I bet he can produce lots of aircraft but the pilot experience levels are dropping from all the losses.

I wonder if his strategy to prevent auto-victory has been to fly off most of the KB aircraft and take the carriers to park somewhere they will not likely be molested. Carriers are worth a lot of points but the aircraft might give as much as they lose in a battle. Not risking the carriers would be a good move if he can shift the aircraft around his land bases wherever needed.

My particular problem was that I was loading very large Amphibious TFs with w alot of over capacity at a level 5 port (Argrihan was increased to level 5 by AndyMac for the Ironman scenario).

I have always been under the impression that Amphib TFs will load a minimum of combat loaded supply regardless if I try setting it to Do Not Load Supply.

In most cases one probabaly wants as much supply as possible loaded with troops attacking a hostile shore.

CR appears to be loading for Transport to a new locale where I presume he will then reload as Amphibious for the intended targets.

I always though that Amphib tf's set to "do not load" will load at least three days supply.

I did that. Hiding the CVs works pretty well.

That depends. Japan gets a lot of dedicated late-war training squadrons, which means you can massively bulk out the pool of trained pilots. There's no replacing the high EXP pilots IMO, the life of an IJN dive-bomber pilot is just too short and fraught with danger for that.

How well are the CV at Cam Rahn Bay hidden, are they still in range of a B29 strike from, say, Rangoon??

There's some guesswork involved in things like this, plus dice, and the possibility that a player goofs, but knowing my opponent, I'd guess that he'd leave his carriers exposed only if he wanted me to see them and attack. He'd then arrange to have a nice welcoming committee. I'd lose 30 B-29s only to learn that his carriers had departed and three one-point MSWs remained in port.

You may find half a a dozen CV & sink them all for no losses.

Yeah, I know. It's hard to know when to take chances and when not to. Some players are inclined to do so; others not to do so. I fall towards the latter end of the scale.

I think my style of plays serves me well, at least from the standpoint of being able to carry the war deep in enemy territory. But I do miss opportunities, and sometimes fate or luck or dice or weather smile and present gifts where none might otherwise be given.

NoPac: Kinda quiet, as I'm busy shuffling assets around in preparation for the invasions of Onnekotan and Shikotan, in the next week or two. Behind the scenes, a vast army is prepping for something bigger. Prep is largely from the 40s to the 70s, so another four weeks should do it.

Yes, it is this. Amphibs will load that minimum amount of supply, which I also think is 3 days' worth.

NoPac: Unintentional House Rule violation on my part - I meant to order a nighttime Manpower raid but got in a hurry and ordered a nighttime airfield raid. As I'd have guessed it didn't accomplish much and cost me the same amount of aircraft. Arg.

NoPac: Daylight strat bombing mission with Mustang and Thunderbolt sweeps and escorts scores very well. Erik had decent CAP numbers but second tier aircraft and light AA. He'll likely have to adjust by adding better fighters and perhaps AA deep, especially his better bases.

I can maintain a decent strat bombing campaing now - half nighttime, half daytime if I'm good at picking the right targets. But I can't afford one of those raids in which is lose 50 B-29s, so I'll have to be careful and nurse my numbers.

The new B-29Bs are online now. They add further depth. They may go to NoPac or possibly to SEAC to deal with Singapore and Palembang.

NoPac: All the noise was in the Andaman Sea region, but it meant very little in comparison to the (Paint. Drying.) logistical work done at Shikuka.

I suspect the IO incursion is a diversion (rhyme not intended) meant to draw some of your forces here so he can try to seize back Kushiro or just use his AF to devastate your airfields. He has to be frustrated by his inability to seriously dent your progress so far.

I think one could make a reasonable argument that you are the latter end of the scale! Haha
