It should have been a good raid...nice large juicy cargo fleet, and if my other task forces hadn't dithered....the range was simply to great and I should have waited a day for the raid to commence.

Oh well, perhaps we can redeem something today?

Perhaps Henley and Patterson collided and withdrew as an escort TF?

That heavy cruiser hanged out at 20k hitting my ships...I did knock out an AA mount and a torpedo mount on her though.

As our two stricken CLAAs attempt to flee, one on fire, most of the IJN fleets steam north....but these two IJN destroyers catch the CLAAs and hit them a few times but St Louis shows up....

The battle of Nauru Island is a loss...but it could have been much worse. The USN loses a CLAA and two destroyers, while the IJN's only loss is the one Kagero but many ships are damaged. USN Submarines expended 16+ torpedoes missing every shot...

During the fight the USN is continuing the bombardments of Tarawa and Howland Island, where the Fletchers seem to be doing excellent. I believe there are three now all undergoing training and bombardments.

To the west, the Santa Cruz Islands are being built up against no opposition.

One can only hope that Trigger's crew gained some points towards experience gains with those two attacks. ;)
I agree with you on the Kageros - I track how many sunk and feel less threatened with their declining numbers. All good captains too!
