Yes please. Use the FTR, thanks.

The interception attempt fails (10) but the force stays in the sea area anyway (4-box).

The Axis decide they have had enough of this puppet government in Vichy and rail an Italian Militia unit to Toulouse.

The US gets annoyed when the Japanese occupy Madagascar (6 rolled, 1 chit to Jap pool). It isn't entirely pleased at the Axis actions either (8 rolled, 2 chits to Ge/It pool).

When Axis forces over-run Marseilles a Trans, a BB and a CA are destroyed. The remainder must flee. Where would the French like to send them? Individually or all ships then all subs?
I am a bit confused by this. Madagascar is not occupied by Japan. And occupying Madagascar wasn't even allowed. Partly because it should be done in the DOW step. And partly because it isn't allowed until the turn after Japan aligned French Indo-China, and Japan aligned French Indo-China this turn.

So now I wonder what happened here. Does it have any relevance or should I just forget it and move on. Until now I actually thought that Madagascar was Japanese controlled.

It's that long ago I can't remember it but the hex ownership flags should probably be Japanese.

Not too important immediately but perhaps we can post onto Tech Support for a fix.

Yes, well, that was my initial thought but then I realized that it was illegal to occupy Madagascar that way. Therefore I wondered what actually happened. I went back and tried that save and it didn't look, to me, that you could have taken the action to occupy Madagascar. I am truly sorry that I didn't notice this before.

Not to worry.

I suppose the only thing left about it is the US Entry chit that was generated. Probably doesn't make much difference either way but if the opportunity presents itself, it would be easy to fix if a US entry die roll comes up for the Jap pool.

I've been doing some research with old saves and our AAR thread.

There was a bug that occurred here. When Vichy was collapsed the program gave a roll for Japan occupies Madagascar. Without Japan actually getting control of Japan. And there should not have been any such occupation.

Since the occupation of Madagascar US entry roll was not voluntary it can have had a negative effect on our game. One question is if Japan would have made that occupation anyway if they could have. Another is how we proceed now.

The Japanese US entry pool received a '2' chit.

So do you prefer that we give Madagascar to Japan somehow, or that we somehow reduce the US entry level accordingly (or reduce the future increase in some way).

The US entry effects from having the extra 2 chit earlier than they should are rather difficult to undo and what's done is done. We could fix the next entry roll that called for a chit, so 1 less was added and leave Madagascar as it is but I'm not sure how many more opportunities for that will present themselves.

The alternative is to remember to take 2 off Jap and 1 off Ge/It entry values when it comes to selecting US Entry options and DoW calculations.

On the other hand, the game is now in the position where Japan can align it at the next DoW step anyway. If the hex control can be changed, the Axis paid the cost of the alignment (even if it was illegal), so may as well have the benefit.

Since the Allies have operated on the principal Madagascar was Japanese controlled, option 3 would seem the best. Otherwise, option two. I'd go with trying to change the hex ownership.

I leave it to you to decide on a practical route to proceed.

CW sail a TRS loaded with a FTR2 from Canada to Cape Verde Basin.

The Fleet in the Eastern Med move from the 3 to the 2-box.

Additional ships from UK and Spanish Sahara move to Cape St. Vincent.

The Danish Free Merchant Fleet sail a convoy to Cape St Vincent.

The French convoy in South China Sea seeks port in India.

Allies can activate in three sea areas.

Allies decline to search in the other sea areas.

Axis can initiate combat in Cape St Vincent. And they already have a fighter 'activated' for a search.

How will Axis proceed?

There is no easy combat.

Axis choose 0 box only. 2 points are saved to negate AA fire, all other points to reduce Allied A2A factors.

No effect in the first round of air combat. Does Italy stay for another round?
