Next day I catch some Transports headed west thru the Rangoon gap. Not sure how big this TF is. DMS in a forward TF....bet some money it is headed to Chittigong.

Tracker continues to report the Akagi as sunk by torpedo off Port Blair.

Japs are pushing northwest from changsha into the mountains..entrenched infantry from same organized corp/army group has waiting for one month. IJA is attacking at 80%.
Effort to interrupt supply route at Kukong seems to have worked as the Unit is not pushed off the MLS yet.

FatR almost has a 2 to one on me . The Chinese also got pushed out of Kukong this turn.

In other news, a DD task group sent to shell Hilo was caught after a bombardment run by one IJN CA TF and then by a different CL TF on withdrawl and was destroyed w/ loss of 5 DDs and one DMS.
I did not watch the combat replay on the previous turn until later as it showed the incoming DD TF spotted the previous day, so either Fatr reacted or the 6range of his SCTFs worked very well...
I do feel bad as I probably would have called off the raid if i had watched the replay.

Seems FatR has become complacent about fighter cover in china. I was able to make a big ftr kill score this turn in his push to the north from Changsha.
FatR is a quick responder. He will send something to try to punish me...

The DD Barker, one of 2 surviving DDs from the Hilo raid, was scuttled on 11-8-42 w/ 96% fires...I did wonder if she would have made port. Still had a speed of 6 per turn.

IJA pulled back from a northern press from Changsha. These 60 units last attacked at 75% strength. I brought in some air support from CBI and seemed to accomplish some effect on the enemy. Cap really ate some helens. Must
have shot down about 30 LBA. Some B25s started to bomb the 60 unit stack. Looks like the IJA has relocated to a nearby base to replenish after operations. So I launched sporatic ground attacks to slow his reorganization.

Today the p39 makes a sweep in north CBI. I have noticed if the sweep alt. is set to 1000ft for the p39 the IJA is forced to drop altitude to engage...This then leads to a favorable outcome.

Seems my air units are doing a better job of engaging the enemy. helps when I start to have an ace in every squadron.

Originally located on the big red X, which it cleared. Then the stack w/drew to the east to current location NW of Changsha...In the meantime I reoccuppied the 3x hex for defensive use. I love free terrain, make him pay 2 times.
NW of Changsha the 60 unit jap stack cleared the hex but did not move north-probably because of crosscountry supply. Now as you can see the china death star is moving back to the SW.

In other news, chinese p66 on sweep over Changsha revel in their victory over the much vaunted Ki44a.

This report is not surprising.. China death star will probably march to the southwest to avoid a river crossing then return to Changsha to push out the defenders. At least I can add another 3 weeks to the defense of China.

This is a trend look at past air losses. Note the recent trend shift to allied advantage. I felt forced to fight at Port Blair to save the 3rd indian corp which caused the spike around turn 290.

Note the 2000vp spike for japan on turn 300. This is the hawaii raid/supply to pearl...Cost me 2000 victory points to insure pearl would not be out of supply. The equvalant of 3 infantry divisions and parts are at pearl. Would be bad to lose them. Fragments of all have been removed, but still a long time to rebuild. End game will tell me if I was justified.

Jap carriers are on the move, I wondered why.

Could the 2/2 recon be the reason???
