Situation before my move. He retreats to escape my pincers.

T39 - South

Despite his retreat I manage to encircle aprox. 30 divisions. Some disappointing performances though especially from Manstein's Corps.

T40 - Pocket

The pocket holds despite two counter-attacks. While clearing the pocket Pavel Rybalko gets killed.

T40 - South

The situation at the end of my turn. Two additional rifle divisions have been surrounded.

T40 - OOB

Nice work on the pocket - I count 273k casualties to the Soviets in Turns 39/40, of which 205k captured plus the loss of Rybalko.

Also, time to replace Manstein? [;)]

T41 - Rzhev

Some minor fighting at Rzhev. Otherwise it is quiet. I move a hex row forward destroying all the existing Russian fortifications.

T41 - Orel/Kursk

The Russians have retreated a fair bit in this sector. I mostly flip hexes.

T41 - South

An important battle has been won thanks to Air Landing division which is filled with three pioneers. The Don (still frozen) has been crossed and Azov will be a supply source next turn.

Further north I advance towards Boguchar.

T41 - OOB

T42 - Defense

Another defensive success thanks to reserve activation. Russian attack was from previous turn of course.

T42 - South

In the south he manages to kick my infantry division out of the swamp hex. However, Air Landing is still across the river and Azov is a supply source.
