Allied impulse 8 continued

The Germans have made some progress into the Caucasus but seem to not haveenough force left to go any further into the area.

July/August 43 Axis impulse 5 ( impulse 9 ) Fine

Germany land, rest pass for 40% end of turn chance.

Germany rails an SS Armor from Russia to Paris.

Small land moves to hold the line in France are made, but there are not enough German units in the west to do much.

The situation now is such that Germany has to go on the defensive and start to withdraw from Russia in good order as long as they can. The Russians are beginning to be able to attack and could soon make holes in the front there.

This situation makes it hard to do a solitaire game, an actual opponent might make different moves.

Turn end roll was a 5, no end of turn.

US combined, Russia and CW land

US convoys reestablish supply in Solomons.

CW attacks across the Loire in France almost cutting off the Brittany area. @ CW units disorganized and Germans retreated.

Russians slowly advance westwards in Russia

Turn did not end.

all land

Axis tactical withdrawal continues and additional units arrive in France from the east.

German bombers are rebasing from far into Russia towards the west front.

Turn still did not end.

All land

The Allies advance further against little resistance, CW takes Brest causing German fleet to rebase back to Kiel.

Russia closes with the German forces in Russia but no attacks.

Turn still does no tend.

Germany rails another unit from Russia to the West.

A few other German units that were on their way east have turned around and are now driving west.

Sep/Oct 43 Allies win initiative, weather roll 10 storms..

US supercombined, CW naval, Russia land.

US SUBs sink Japanese convoys in Bismarck Sea
US invades New Ireland in rain and is ready for additional invasions if the weather clears.

Both the CW and the US transport more troops to France.

Sep/Oct 43 Axis impulse 1 ( impulse 3 ) Storms

Japan initiates minor sea battles in the Pacific, no major results. Supply to Truk restored.

Germany begins withdrawal from the Caucasus to gain a solid front line south to north in Russia.

The reinforcements went to The west and are moving to bolster the defenses in France.

The only units lost this turn was 2 small Italian units from the Tobruk area.

Sep/Oct 43 The turn was short and with storm in Arctic and Temperate the entire time.

It gave the Germans a breather with no losses.
