Small ball approach - this is what will be happening in SE Pac over the next few months. Once KB (all three parts) leave the area, most ships will be exiting this theater. Many of my warships are way overdue for 10/42 upgrades and some of my CVs missed their 7/42 upgrades. Those left will be employed to steadily isolate Tahiti.

Those refuelling TFs look tempting. KB would be in a pickle if they were sunk, as he cannot have brought much fuel to his SoPac bases yet.

Nice idea, but I'm tied down to eventually heading back to eastern map edge. NZ has absolutely NO fuel. Australia has just enough right now to keep a few subs operational, but nothing extra.

Plans for next 6 months:

Right now, I need to wait for KB to clear the SE corner of map. Then, most of the 300 plus ships will leave. Most will head for California for upgrades and repairs. Their crews will have time with family for Christmas and New Year while the warships get a needed upgrade (most haven't had the big 10/42 with significant AA). They will get cold weather gear for the invasions of Dora Harbor and Cold Bay in early 43. The focus will then switch over to recapture of western Australia and should occur just after all those APs I've been hoarding become APAs.

Here are the damaged ships at Mangareva. CV Enterprise is pierside [23-57(33)-15(4)-2] for 40 days, but it will be much less.

Recapping what has been sunk so far. I would take BB Hiatchi off the list as she only had a single TT hit from a sub.

The list that really hurts is of AOs and TKs sunk. It comes out to 26 of them. [X(]

I don't concern myself with Auto Victory, but here are the points to date. The loss of Hawaii real helped John.

Really solid score there despite Johns rampaging. No danger of AV for you! 13K VPs in November is really good. Looks like John has been careless with both his planes and ships as usual! [:D]

While losing all those tankers really hurt you can make up for it by having fuel hauled by xAKs. Inefficient? Sure but who cares when you have a couple of hundreds xAKs to spare. [:D]

At Mangareva, the decision is made to sortie just about every ship. On 13th, three TFs leave and are unseen at bottom row to SE as a test to his naval saerch. On 14th, with KB1 seeming to be headed for Tahiti to replenish and refuel (my understanding is she came from Pago Pago area, down to Mangareva, to eastern map edge, and now headed to Tahiti so she should be unable to race to eastern map edge again) it seems to be the opportunity to leave before I get attacked again. I cannot stay another day and put the Allied Fleet at risk to wait another day for Enterprise. KB2 has left Tahiti with strong SC TF that I think will hit Tubuai. From previous sweeps of Tahiti, he has the slower CV Hiyo and Junyo (25 knots) in KB2.
CV Enterprise is down to only one day until availability. Her flotation damage is down enough to allow 17 knots. Just about 10 DDs are left (less than 50 ships total).
Hopefully, John will be distracted by holiday festivities and miss this massive move. [:D]

At Mangareva, CV Wasp TF did NOT leave or if she did she was back at end of 16th. Not a happy Admiral at Allied HQs. The good news was John didn't send his CVs south. On 17th, no sign of John coming back down, so I've ordered CV Wasp TF to head east. For next turn, CV Enterprise will head east at 17 knots. Fingers crossed.
