Today's ship losses (plus one from tomorrow). At least one more LST will sink and a number of others are heavily damaged. No LCI(G) were sent to accompany them, instead being saved for troop convoys, but heavy destroyer escorts were assigned and three old BB bombarded. It was not enough. nature in the form of the conditions off Naha also tore up the LST making deliveries.

Finally a new turn 
Good progress all around. I'm really, really, really curious to see the results of the first attack at Naha tomorrow. Seems like you'll be bringing the big floating guns to bear. Wonder how much havoc they will cause.
Also interested in the Hainan invasion, I had forgotten you were planning to do it so soon. Guess it will be nice not having to worry about those 2 bases.

Certainly thought about that. If Naha is as tough a nut to crack as I anticipate, there will be plenty of time between ground assaults for the softening up!ORIGINAL: Lowpe

Over our southern armoured unit the Imperial fighters won the battle with a sweep, but it was small combat. Miles below, the 1st Army Tank Regiment is down to 81% disruption. The convoys heading for Kiungshan have not been spotted by the enemy and will land tomorrow.

It's good that the RN has a tradition of intrepid sailors, because Willis and his carriers are once again sitting under Extreme Overcast, squarely in range of the IJN survivors. Weather forecast: Clear! 60 AV of two units was airlifted into Utan Melintang today. The air transports will switch to supply while 29 AV of the 50th Indian Para Bde marches NE to block the road and rail there, and will continue right on into Taiping. Their aim there will be to prevent retreat from Georgetown, holding until larger units arrive from the NE. They will be joined by another element (mentioned yesterday) loading on an LST at Langkawi that will land in the clear hex on the coast road. The balance of both the 50th and the 3rd Commando Bde are loading aboard LSI(L) at Victoria Point for sea lift to Utan Melintang. The convoy will be covered by the RN fast BB TF after they rearm. Of course those elements of the 50th will then make haste to reinforce the advance element. The excess combat units are now loading at Daito Shoto, with only the 112th Cavalry Rgt staying on as garrison. At Naha only two of the divisions are being left on the line, the other four are in reserve mode to facilitate recovery. The two artillery Bn are in good shape but will stand down to avoid instigating counter-battery fire that interferes with combat unit recovery. There were no air strikes at all against the defensive positions at Naha, which certainly did not help our side. The cause is unknown as weather seemed adequate. Well, ouch. Naha was really a bloodbath. Forts lvl 6 before the fights, you also had a bad roll.. It's going to take a while. You'll have to bomb/bombard it to the ground I think.
Apart from that, it's very nice that you managed to have those units retreat to georgetown. And also good progress at Lang Son.
About the Yamato, the Devious Admiral has you fooled! You think it's a battleship, but it's actually a sub. So your forces keep saying it's been sunk... [:D]
