China’s Type 055 DDG is visually confirmed there are 112 VLS units installed, with 64+48 setup.

But I still think the legacy version of “Type 055 Zhang He” should be exist hypothetically too, in tribute to the fictional debut from Ghost Fleet. For the authentic 055, it can use NATO code Renhai instead.

The latest image (August 2017) suggested that a new variant of KD-20 (KD-20A?) has been developed. It features a new high-definition imaging radar (similar to that of DF-21C/D?) in the head section in place of DSMAC optical window which further improves its anti-jamming capability as well as its accuracy at night and in bad weather conditions.

Gives a vague inservice date for the RBS 15F MK3 entries in the DB for Gripen NG and probably other Swedish things. Also gives us a Saab promo image that suggets that the current NG entry could maybe have a short-range loadout with 4 RB 15s instead of 2?

SCALP EG/Storm Shadow/Black Shaheen

this weapon has a Cruise Altitude in the DB of 300 ft/91 meters. This seems a bit odd to me given that its min launch altitude is 200 feet and its meant to be a quite stealthy cruise missile. Wiki also lists its flight altitude as 100-130 feet/30 meters, though i can't seem to find a source on that. Shouldn't it be at most be Tomahawk level 200 feet cruising alt?

This was reportedly over the Black Sea and dated August 2017 but on checking this is an old image circulated by the RuAF MoD in relation to this story.

It still is a relevant image though as previous released photos of Bort RED 27 showed Red dummy R-77-1's where as these are evidently operational all white R-77-1's?

The 2 x Kh-31's may be trials versions as I can't see the full markings but are the longer bodied Kh-31PD/AD versions.

The DB loads for the RuAF Su-30SM only have the Kh-31P.

If Wikipedia's sources are accurate all production of the Kh-31 moved to the later models in 2012.

Hello, I don't know if this has already been reported, in this case my apologies:

The Russian Naval Air Force Su-33s re being upgraded to SM standard. And they are also receiving new engines.

I know that in the new database we have a 2016 Gefest SVp-24 upgrade, which is the new targeting system, however all I see is the ability to carry unguided bombs, nowhere near the capabilities of a SM upgraded Su-27 (Su-33). An SM upgrade should bring the new updated sensors and guided missiles loadous as well.

Finally, a humble request (I would do this myself but, unfortunately, we can't property edit aircrafts' sensors and weapons as with ships)

Russia (experimental-prototype) Mig-23-98, with full upgraded capabilities (no, not the Angolan 'lite' upgraded Mig-23-98-2)

Here a short resume (not mine) of the fully upgraded Mig-23-98.

The Mig-23-98 is a TRUE upgrade for MiG-23MLD. Whit the upgrade, the old Sapfir-23 radar is upgraded to be the Moskit-23, as well as the avionics. The Moskit-23 airborne radar is interfaced with the upto- date R-27R(T), RVV-AE and R-73 air-to-air missiles and allows the use of the R-23T and R-24T missiles, Kh-31A air-to-ship missiles, as well as the KAB-500Kr aerial guided bombs, unguided rockets, gun armament and unguided aerial bombs.
Equipping the aircraft with the Moskit-23 multifunction radar makes it possible to markedly enhance aircraft combat efficiency, first of all, due to:

- increasing the aerial target detection range up to 90 km and using the mapping mode to employ the Kh-31A antiship active-homing missiles (with an effective range of up to 100 km against sea targets) and the KAB-500Kr guided aerial bombs. Also the upgrade doesn't give the aircraft a new HUD. What they did is that they only upgrade the HUD it's self to display the upgraded radar on the screen. They also added the same Helmet - mounted sight from the MiG-29 for the R-73 Archer. Also Airframe life extension was offered as well. Other upgrade was to Angola had the upgrade of the Saphir radar fitted to their MiG-23MLs; this radar upgrade allows the Angolan MiG-23s to fire new types of air-to-air and air-to-ground weapons. This radar upgrade seems to be the same offered as part of the MiG-23-98-2 radar upgrade.

This might come off as an unusual request, but could I request an option for the Gripen E/F/NG with AMRAAM capability?

I'm asking because in an offsite Let's Play, the query of how to outfit 'our' Gripens came up and someone decided to go straight to the source for the possibility:


Would it be possible to get that added to the DB (perhaps as a hypothetical entry)? It would come in handy for anyone doing scenarios with potential Gripen operators that might favour AMRAAMs over Meteors.

Hello, I have request regarding the L-159:

1) Czech Air Force - L-159A - Aircraft Loadouts

- for "Ferry" please add 2x 500 liter Drop Tank and 2x 350 liter Drop tank (i.e. 4x drop tanks) as that is standard for long flights like the one to Spain for training

- for "CRV-7 70mm Rockets" please change "CRV-7 C-14 70mm Rocket" subtype to "CRV-7 C-15 70mm Rocket" which are in the game and which were actually bought by CzAF and please change number of carried rockets from 14x to 12x as rocket pod LAU-5002 is just for 6 rocket (these rocket pods were bought by air force; the LAU-5003 which can be seen sometimes was left from original testing but it is not used)

- for "CRV-7 70mm Rockets, Heavy" from same reason please change rocket to "C-15"and number to 24x representing 4x LAU-5002 rocket pods and delete 2x "500 liter Drop tank" as all 4 rocket pods needs to be carried on inner pylons and the outer pylons are just for Sidewinders

2) Czech Air Force - L-159T1

- please change year of introduction to 2008, the first four L-159T1 were created in 2007 and handed over to the air force at the end of this year, so 2008 is year when they were available

- also please change the loadouts as with L-159A

3) Iraqi L-159A

- please change the number of L-159A from 11x to 10x, Iraq has ordered 13x L-159A but from that 3 are for spare parts

- please add to Loadouts for "ferry" 2x 500 liter Drop Tank and x2 350 liter Frop tank

- plese add also loadouts with 4x Mk82 500lb LDGP and without any drop tanks, photo below

4) Iraqi L-159T1

- please add iraqi L-159T1, Iraq ordered two L-159T1, first one received already in 2015 but stayed in the Czech Republic for training pilots

2- FTI Frigate (frégate de taille intermédiaire or mid-size frigate)
The French Defence Ministry announced the attribution to DCNS (now Naval Group) of a contract for the development and construction of five FTI (Frégate de Taille Intermédiaire or mid-size frigate) surface combatant intended for the French Navy in April this year. The first of the five frigates from this DGA-managed programme should be delivered in 2023 with an entry into active duty in 2025.

The FTI will have a displacement of about 4200 tonnes with a crew of 125 sailors. It will be capable of anti-submarine warfare, anti-air warfare, anti-surface warfare as well as the support of special forces missions.

The prime contractor is DCNS while Thales is set to supply a number of brand new, next-gen systems:
- The CAPTAS-4 Compact sonar
- The SEA FIRE radar
- Aquilon integrated naval communication system
- The SENTINEL electronic warfare system

Safran Electronics & Defense will supply a new electro-optical FCS, the PASEO XLR.

Provisional configuration (to be confirmed):
76mm main gun
2x Narhwal 20mm remote guns
8x Exocet MM40 Blk III anti-ship missiles
2x Sylver A70 launchers for 16x Aster 30 missiles
Space for 2x extra Sylver A70 launchers
MU90 torpedoes
Hangar for one NH90 helicopter and one UAV

There is a mistyping in records of Ka-27 series helicopters. In the DB empty weight is 6800 kg, but max weight is 1800 kg and max payload 12000 kg.
In fact empty weight is 6100 kg, takeoff weight is 10600 kg for PL modification and 10650 for PS modification, max takeoff weight - 12000 kg. Payload - 4000 kg in the cargo hold or 5000 kg at external load.

Question - fuel weight is specified in kg, is it by taking into account fuel density?

The FREMM, Egyptian and Moroccan FREMM have 2 VDSs. They have the UMS 4249 CAPTAS Mk4 which is confirmed by many sources. They also have the ATBF 2 which I cannot find associated with the FREMM anywhere. Is this 2nd VDS a mistake?
