• The enemy division remnant NE of Nanning is fading, possibly dropping nearly 1,000 troops per day.

• The enemy is again seen just west of Canton, this time a single unit. Don't know if they reshuffled units or if this one never used.

• With the aid of daily air strikes I think our armor will catch the units just expelled from Wuchow before they slip into Canton.

• There are no movement indications seen for units in Canton, in Hong Kong, between Canton and Hong Kong, and just east of Canton. Weather is bad there but possibly the Empire is not abandoning those cities, instead merely placing blocks to maneuvering aimed at keeping Canton's defenders from retreating into Hong Kong. Of course we will do what we can to effect that anyway.

Second World War
On 26 September 1940, the Guides Cavalry was mechanized as a Light Reconnaissance Regiment equipped with wheeled armoured carriers and 15 cwt trucks. In May 1941, it was dispatched to Iraq. The regiment took part in the Anglo-Soviet invasion of Iran, when one of its squadrons, supported by an infantry battalion, stormed and captured the city of Khorramshahr on 25 August. In June 1942, the regiment arrived in North Africa and covered the British Eighth Army's open desert flank as it withdrew towards Egypt after the debacle at Gazala. The Guides Cavalry returned to Iraq in September 1942. In November 1943, it proceeded to Kohat in India, where it was converted into an Armoured Car Regiment for operations on the North West Frontier. The regiment received its first tanks in November 1945, when it was equipped with Stuart tanks. In 1946, the Stuarts were replaced with Churchill tanks

• Enemy units are again seen sitting east of Canton. Must have been the bad weather shielding them.

• Our troops have made contact with the enemy unit just west of Canton, across the river in the forest.

• Armor is moving to engage the enemy east of Canton; it will take several days to arrive on scene.

• Other units continuing to move to encircle Canton.

• The plan at Canton is to block all retreat paths except to the southwest. I'm uncertain if that will be considered a valid retreat path due to the great distance to the nearest Imperial base, but it's either there or destroy enemy units within the urban heavy terrain of Canton itself. If we do manage to retreat enemy there, it is open terrain and our tactical air strikes will be devastating.

• 2,355 AV at Naha. The troops are in good shape, well supplied and almost fully recovered from landing under fire. More supplies will be landed. The first assault at Naha will wait until after the landings at Nago.

• Landings tomorrow at Okinoerabushima. I believe the landing convoys and covering carriers will be well covered, but only tomorrow will tell. A landing shock attack will be required, but recon claims the island is very lightly held.

• There is only trivial damage at Tokunoshima and Amami Oshima, so airfield building will begin right away.

• The troops at Amami Oshima will rest as needed before clearing the island. Such operations at Tokunoshima will commence at once.

• No sign of IJN battleships, just heavy cruisers 1 hex NE of Amami Oshima.

• Everything but warships will be out of the Amami Oshima and Tokunoshima hexes tonight. We also have plenty of surface groups patrolling through those hexes and all around to intercept enemy forces.
