Current game date: 8aug42.

This is my first opportunity to see if i can Advance research an upgrade to a current plane frame.  Note the Tojo2A. Normally due 9/42...I have maxed the research for this plane......time to convert at least one factory to the 2b version....If I convert both factories at this time then I should keep the research at.60 per month which would bring in the whole line in 2/3s less time than normal.

I am doing the same w/ the Tony.  Note in this case I have three factories...I will use one to build the tony and the other two will convert to tony b  version then on to the d model.

And the same w/ the zero a6m5. Ahh, but this line only has one RD factory... so the fix is in the next post.

First I wanted some cheap zero factories before I increase the size...So I converted some small factories as seen in this screen print. IIRC it cost 1000 supply per point to convert any factory into something dfferent...but it only cost 100 supply to increase the size of an operating factory....So first I aquired the factories as seen...next I will change these factories to r/d the a6m5 then I will increase the r/d effort of each to 30...then when all three factories hit max R/D I will convert r/d to the a6m8...I will leave the 100 frame per month fatory to pick up the a6m5 production when the time comes.

I need to start production of a tojo for field operations.   So I need to find a small factory that can convert cheap ...5 or less.

This is a view of a change in the tojo r/d and the oscar r/d....

The Oscars were active production factories that I switched to r/d the next version. The factories stayed at 30production each even after I switched them to R/D, So they will give 60 points per month to R/D on the next Oscar.

Same w/ the Tojo.

I am working my engine production and noticed this problem...I increased the helen production to 90.  I did not increase the engine factory to support this issue...so we have this result..

Seems I have low fuel levels on Honshu...Started to see a problem w/ heavy industry spending on the global chart.

and the alert chart:

I opened the road from Singers to Port Authur about 20 days ago....I then rebased some convoys to PA, which now seems to have been a mistake...I have plenty of oil on Honshu...

Image

Solutions:
Relocate my convoys back to singers.
Check all refineries on Honshu , if needed turn them on.
Turn off some heavy industry untill the fix is in.
Seems economy was rolling along untill I relocated the tf's, but could be something else as I have made alot of factory changes.

Pretty sure you need to import fuel to the HI ... What does tracker say?

I dont remember all the issues...I do know I have plenty of oil and I am out of fuel...I figure Iam not refining enough oil each turn to maintain production...Thought I would run out of oil fiirst.

I show a 4000 fuel per day deficit in the HI.  That doesn't include fuel needed for ships.  You need to import a lot of fuel to the HI as well as oil.  About 8000/day oil as well.  When you start the game, you only have about 3 months of fuel in the HI.  You need to refuel in the DEI as much as you can AND move as much fuel back to the HI.

Managing the IJ economy is tricky ... and the allies can quite easily upset it.  Heck, I can blow it without any help from the Allies!!  [:D]

So there are 3 phases to the IJ economy.

First, you have to avoid running the HI out of supply in the Dec41-Jan42 by overexpansion.
Second, you have to get your resource convoys up and running within 45 days from MAN, HOK, and SAK.
Third, you have to get the DEI secured and start moving that fuel to the HI by Mar42
Finally, you have to keep all of this going for as long as you can by having the Allies "play" with all of those cool toys AKA "KB", "NETTIES", etc. etc, etc.  [:D]

Repost your industry screen sorted by fuel. Let's see where your fuel is at. You could increase your refineries on the HI but from what I have read you shouldn't have to plus it would take some time to even make a difference. The only other thing I can think of is that the fuel is still "on its way" to Port Arthur. You need to find some and get it back home. (obviously). What does Miri have? Like I said repost but sort it by fuel.

And this is the history of honshu...talk about a tight wire...I do have some factory expantions going on but that should only effect supply...
I cut HI of to save some fuel, but now I see my supply dropping...
a game inside the game...

bigred: my current game vs. rjopel is in the middle of Sep 1942. I have more fuel on TFs bound for the HI than you have in stockpile on Honshu. My fuel stockpile (without giving anything away towards my esteemed opponent) is greater than 1 million on the Home Islands.

You should concentrate on getting fuel first and oil second from the DEI to the Home Islands.

I may be stating the obvious, but I just want to make sure you know. Sorry if I am.

Here is my Honshu Region Resource History window. It appears we are in the same relative time period. We are playing Scenario #1.

Image

You will notice that my fuel is going down, but very slowly as not all my refineries are back online in the DEI. Three more months should take care of that.

The oil is going down, but that is due to me transporting fuel over oil in my tankers when there is a choice.

My resources are going up and will go up more as I have 3 million of resources in the DEI that just need to be transported to the Home Islands.

This is all subject to change when the US figures out the Mk13 torpedo in less than three months, but I have some surprises for my opponent in protecting my convoys.

Big Red, go to your industry screen, sort the fuel, most at the top and post a screen shot.
STOP shipping oil. Do not refuel at the HI's. (the small ASW crap is ok).
All your other numbers look good to me. I haven't played as far as you yet but I have read enough.
I would turn the H industry back on, don't wanna get low on supply.
You can email your latest save and I take a look around, not an expert, but maybe I will see something.
Let me know what version your playing.

+1 on Hanzberger

Also, nashvillen comes from my other hobby, I am part of Nashville Ntrak, a N scale model railroad group in Nashville, TN, hence the username.
