Yeah that was where I was thinking of going with this. A key feature is that you need to take food orders for every soldier you command, and then ensure you have sufficient supplies of cornflakes, porridge, sausages, caviar etc to feed them.

Troop morale is affected by the usual things - so for example you could raise morale by writing letters from loved ones.

Also, for that extra touch, you have to name every soldier, give them profiles, dates of birth, that sort of thing.

The possibilities are endless - I am so excited [:)]

Oh man this is gonna make US rich. A must for morale is an adequate supply of toilet paper.

The player will need to keep track of socks, boots and water distribution. Don't worry folks this is NOT The Campaign for North Africa

You're forgetting some key aspects here.

Make sure you code the game to be totally in favor of one side or the other.

Code it so that if you're playing the AI, you can't win no matter what side you play.

If someone asks you questions about the game online, be sure to become instantly superior in your attitude, then belligerent as you humiliate them publicly. You must hide your massive inferiority complex as well as your limited knowledge of the subject.

Also would be nice if we could pick the color of the individual soldier's socks for the day.

I spot a slight problem vis-a-vis the socks. If you are British you wear Red, German; Black, French; Light Blue, Russian; Green, Austrian: White, American, Dark Blue; Spain: Yellow and Peruvian; Orange. There was no choice - ah unless we can add a "create your own uniform" mod!! YES, now we are cooking on gas.

Of course - how could I have forgotten? I bought this today. Thought I would have trouble finding a copy but fortunately the original publishing house - CRA Publishing - is still alive and well and can be found in Oxford Street.

The book is brilliant - I just need to find a computer that was around in the 50's and then I can get cracking. Should have the game up and running in a few weeks .

I need to decide in game scale for the war. I was thinking of an individual soldier level game, with the game played in real time. What do you think?

You can always count on me to steer you in a certain direction.

I think the individual soldier level game is brilliant. You can't pause the game, which means while u sleep craaaazy things might happen(think Airline Empires). I would like to see you add a feature that makes the player responsible for his character/soldier breathing. Every few seconds you must take some action to cause breathing. Yeah.

Oh, here is a photo of me in the 50's working on a computer that I still own. I will gladly donate it to the cause.

Totally unfair! Only the fellows who wear the green socks should be able to create their own uniforms. [;)]

Oh nate, nate, nate (shakes head for effect). I think you are a little out of your depth here n'est pas? (metephorically pats nate25 on the head).
Do you really know nothing about the Great 7-year Peanut Brittle War 1800-1820?

It is impossible to code the game in that way obviously. Duh. The great thing about the G7YPBW, was - as anyone with a rudimentary knowledge of 19th century warfare knows - everyone won. All sides - even the Peruvians.

May I suggest that you learn to read, then when you have done so, you immerse yourself in Ambroses 1962 best selling trilogy: Peanut Brittle - The War Years. Come back and speak to me then, okay?

But I digress.

Please, can you make sure that the headstamps are correct on the ammo that is issued to each soldier?

There is nothing more irritating than having the right caliber, but from the wrong factory, go to my soldiers.

Thanks,
Nate Grognard

No need. Everyone knows that in the G7YPBW, all ammunition and weapons were supplied to all nations by the Acme Munitions Company (Italy) S.p.A. Well except for the Peruvians of course - as you know, they used the Paddington Bear Munitions Company Incorporated.

And, don't correct me if I'm wrong, isn't the Paddington Bear Munitions Company Incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary of the Brazilian Peanut Brittle Corp.?

Why?

Because I am too busy being instantly superior in my attitude, followed up with a spot of belligerence and humiliation.
