do I then see an undefended hex just beyond. oh my.

Battle result

Russians come up big and Moscow is saved for many weeks.

Very well defensed. I think I needed infantry division to help get across the river.

south final

I clear out the clear hexes of the surrounded Russians.

Otherwise I push Russians to their side of the Don

Thinking of jumping the river here next turn but weather seems fickle.

Again I somehow lack enough engineers for this losing attack.

Rough terrain makes it a challenge to take.

fort drops below 5X

and Russian plane casualty detail

I would start to get worried about the German losses. The overall numbers of losses of each side does not tell you how the air war is going. The key number the Germans need to look at is how many single-engine fighters you are losing. Last turn you lost over a hundred of them, and I am guessing you lost over 200 German single engine fighters this turn. Keep going with that and the German air force will be in crisis in a few turns. By contrast if you lost a 200 recon or 200 level bombers you could say that is par for the course. Once you have no effective fighter arm anymore how many bombers or any other type of aircraft you have will be irrelevant.

Both the last two air losses screens I would call big Soviet wins.

Bitburg has just started working on air base attacks. Plus I am being a little more active in attacking some of his. especially down south.

I have good number in pool.

I will watch.
