Another big turn.
To start off with, the IJN unhappy at its performance the previous day sent out the famous
Razer and a few DDs to extract some revenge on the RN near Ceylon.
The night started well.

Meanwhile on the East Coast of Australia Lowpe threw a few ships at our surface taskforces to interfere with the bombardment runs on his lads at Rockhampton.

And then some US DDs had a crack as well at Rocky.
This time it cost them.
*By God he must almost be out of DDs by now [X(]

The rest of the turn consisted of more indecisive clashes until one of the I Boats put 4 x torps into HMS Ramilles (ouch!)
First attack at Manilla achieved a 1:1 which was very promising.
Will huddle up and consolidate on all of the key positions and let the Allies continue to impale themselves on the superior IJN and IJA forces. Sooner or later they will have to break contact again and re-group.
*Losses below for the last two days but not complete as I ran out of page space.
4 x DDs and 1 x CA for the IJN
8 x DDs (?), 1 x CL and 1 x BB for the Allies

Its all over for Manila.
The defenders demonstrated as much heart as the Italian 10th Army over in the Middle East or if you follow AFL (which I am guessing most people wouldn't on this forum) a Carlton supporter.
Onwards to Clark

A collapse like being bowled out for 36 at the Adelaide Oval, or 67 at Headingley?

With your R&D efforts, what is your solution to dealing with those 'nasty' P-47s? They killed you in our game. [:D]

Yes Mike, those P47s certainly caused me grief [:D]
Learnt a few more tricks in the last couple of years especially regarding layered CAP. This combined with sheer numbers will deal with the P47s,
What I continue to struggle with is a massive (and I mean massive) push into the inner cordon of the Home Islands. Once the Allies are established in 44 near the Home Islands I can't shift them and then the bombers start to arrive [:(]
I haven't worked out a solution to this one yet and doubt I ever will.

Just keep the Allies far enough away to not be a bother! [;)]

And here he comes again.
No sooner has the action paused around India than it flares heavily on the East Coast of Australia.
The only fault I can potentially see in Lowpe's game play (who in all honesty is a far better player than myself) is he is a tad aggressive and that is making him a bit predictable.
In some of the more exposed positions around India and Australia I only have to wait a turn or two and the Allies charge right in be it by air, ground or sea. As long as I have adequate reserves and am defending in depth I generally carve him up. Then a few local counter offensives inflict a bit more pain on the Allies. Not worried about holding ground, just want to bleed him [:D]
This turn a big aerial assault on shipping around Bundaberg and the Empire was ready.
Soon his ships will join the fray and hopefully more pain will be inflicted.
*He still might have the last laugh if traps me at Bundaberg

Scoreboard
I reckon I can get to 3:1 in the next couple of months (PI, Singapore and China) and then the pressure may lead to a crazy mistake from the Allies especially with their CVs.
Getting to 3:1 will be the key to exerting that additional pressure and getting Lowpe out of his comfort zone.

I was ready alright and once again as predicted Lowpe came with the kitchen sink.
Everything went to plan except the actual naval battle which I lost badly![:@]
The combats went forever but eventually 3 x CAs (that really hurts) eventually sink and 1 x DD.
The Allies lose 2 x CL (pretty old Dutch/ NZ types and approx 4 x DDs
Hardly a fair trade and worse the troops at Bundaberg and the amphib shipping are heavily exposed.
Time to regroup and then back into it. At least fighting in 42 you have a chance by 44 you get obliterated by the Fletchers and those nasty CLs.
Such is the fortune of war.

Allied losses last 3 days.
Pensacola is definitely not dead and the BB is doubtful as well. Still that has to hurt and there is a few DDs still missing off that list.

So much for the glory, now for the pain.
Last 3 days of losses. Late April /early May has been very rough for CAs. Now 5 dead in total for the war.
Will start to conserve them a bit and use BBs.
I reckon I am about to lose another 5 to 8 Aks, a couple of DDs and maybe a CL if he really pushes around Bundaberg. Just not too sure how badly he is hurting and the status of his reserves.
