I suppose that's a safe way to do it, as from their perspective there is less chance of naval interference - now for the 2 week walk through the jungle to Koepang! The Allies also landed troops at the dot base Larantoeka (just north of Timor).

Lilies and Sallies bombed the 2 surrounded corps in China; Anns and Nells bombed the 2 surrounded brigades on the Burma coast.

Rinse and repeat on the bombing runs in China and Burma, but no attacks today. The Imperial Guard Division arrived to reinforce the position in Burma. Both places will shock attack tomorrow.

The 33 Div moved SE (as shown on the previous map) but the artillery stayed behind and was destroyed by the British attack.

D4Y3 Judy R&D advanced from Aug to Jul '44. With 3 sites researching and no engine bonus, these will advance 1 month every 33.3 days, or about 1 month per month. R&D should complete in about 10.5 months, or Oct '43.

Five or six days ago the Chinese moved two corps from east of Chihkiang to southeast of Chihkiang, which cut the retreat route of the Japanese units at Chihkiang. What the Chinese commander forgot was that these 2 corps also have no retreat route! The Chinese attacks on the Japanese defenders at Chihkiang have been insufficient to inflict significant damage on the Japanese let alone force them to retreat. But the attacks by the Japanese on these 2 corps has been brutal. On the map below the blue arrow shows the advance of the Chinese and the combat reports of the last three days show the impact on the disrupted Chinese force. The Chinese reinforcements coming from the west will not arrive in time.

B6N1 Jill production began at 60 per month. The 30(0) B5N2 Kate production facility at Hiroshima was converted to 0(21) B6N1 Jill, then expanded to 0(30), so production will be 90 per month in 30 days. Kate production is now 30 per month from 60. The 30(0) D3A1 Val production was converted to 0(42) D4Y1 Judy some days ago (if I forgot to mention it), leaving about 125 Vals in inventory and no more production. This facility will be repaired to 30(12) only (and probably converted to something else in the future).

The 4 CVs at SIngapore (Akagi, Kaga, Shokaku, and Zuikaku), and BB Yamato, completed repairs and head to Soerabaja.

The battle of attrition in Burma/Thailand has begun. The Allies conducted deliberate attacks at several locations, not achieving decisive results, but with their plentiful supply and the steady deterioration of Japanese troops it's only a matter of time (days) until something busts open.

Shouldn't a 2:1 result reduce a level 3 fort to 1? So how do the Allies capture the base? Does the unit surrounded notation have anything to do with it? The Japanese force didn't even have any casualties!
