I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid... entirely. Ok, how about a range? Above 5 and under 50.

Hi, Ah Dadman don't be so paranoid. The people have a right to know.
List all your ships by location and current damage and training.
Do the same with all your airgroups and LCU.
I'd do mine but no one cares about Japanese units.

Like a famous Chief Engineer of NCC-1701, I sometimes skew my damage by a factor of 4. That way I keep my reputation as a miracle worker.
You're a truely lovely man. Now knock it off, or I'll send another raiding party to Bungo Suido.

Wow, what a Month!!
The great carrier battle off Nanoumea has really turned the tide for the Allies in terms of stemming any serious expansionist threat beyond the conquered territories. Japan has only 1 fleet carrier left (Hiryu) supported by 2 mini-CVs (Junyo and Hiyo). Still a potent force, but one I can rekon with.
I expect him now to go into defensive mode and adopt hit and run tactics with defense in depth. Of course that would mean that I would have to go on the offensive. I'm not ready for that until about Jan 43.
SCORE: (Previous month in parenthesis)
Allies: 8286 (6736)
Japan: 20870 (20133)
BASES Controlled/Points
Allies- 149/3177 (154/3086 )
Japan- 299/3852 (294/3781 )
AIRCRAFT LOSS Points
Allies- 2800 (2581)
Japan- 1832 (1548)
TROOP LOSS Points
Allies- 10207 (10056)
Japan- 307 (296)
SHIPS/POINTS
Allied- 266/4012 (264/3715)
(3 CV, 5 BB, 2 CA, 8 CL, 34 DD, 21 SS, many AP/AK/TK/AO)
CV Wasp is the big name this month
Japan-162/2970 (152/1995)
(5 CV, 3 CVL, 1 CS, 1 CA, 1 CL, 28 DD, 8 SS, more than 25 AP/AK/TK/AO)
CVs Soryu, Shokaku, Zuikaku, and CA Tone are the most notable
-Lexington has been released from dock at Pearl Harbor and is in the Coral Sea with Yorktown (Mogami already knows this).
-Saratoga is still on pace to be ready near Jan 43 before she's in service again.
The Carrier Battle Fleet, led by Wasp, supported by Yorktown and Hornet did well in the Canton area, covering the raider force and depriving Mogami of 3 more CVs at the cost of 1 of mine plus 1 BB seriously damaged. Having to operate my CVs in single CV TFs showed its weakness when those Bettys put a torp in Hornet . Not pleased about that. The Carrier Battle Fleet will not be re-formed until either Hornet or Saratoga are battle-worthy again.
I will now continue to look to keep Mogami slowed down. It looks like Port Moresby and Timor are next. Not much I can do to stop him, not sure I even want to unless those places become a problem.
I'm wondering about Mogami's lack of submarine activity. Haven't seen an I-boat in months...

Below is the current state of affairs as of 1 Sep 42. Not too out of whack except that there is a huge salient complicating shipment of supplies from USA to Oz.
The salient comprises of the Gilbert/Marshall Island chain
(1), and The Solomons, namely Guadalcanal
(2).
It looked to me that Mogami was looking to deepen those salients by taking Canton Island
(3) and Espiritu Santo
(4). Due to the buildup of Canton and Noumea as well as what I can now bring to bear, I think Mogami might be going Bunker now.
Port Moresby
(5) will soon fall, which means all the more work I must do to reclaim New Guinea. He’s got at least 2 division there.
Losing 3 carrier battles complicates his mobile striking power {
(a) Banda Sea,
(b) Kendari,
(c) Nanoumea}.
Currently I'm pondering 3 different strategic approches to the offensive he is sure to know is coming. However, there are enough stupid things I can still do to lose on VPs by 1 JAN 43.
