Defending force 185121 troops, 143 guns, 0 vehicles
Japanese assault odds: 6 to 1
Japanese ground losses:

Hmmm. Are you sure those are hungry troops without ammo?

Your opponent is no match for you, that's for sure. If he knew to retreat his AVG and PI warhawk sqds to singapore and set his bomber's level to 1000 feet you would have a much harder battle... Most of japanese navy fighters in saigon are useless claudes, and oscar is simply no match for P-40B. With their poor 7.7mm MG army fighters can only pose little threat to British bombers....The demise of POW and poor Repulse is unavoidable, for they traded for 2 BB would be sunk in PH, but the destruction of Dutch sub fleet was just unthinkable...
Why he choose to run his ships wildly to the India Ocean? Can't understand this. By the time you could attack Karachi (with the support of fleet tanker) there would be a dozen of Hurricane (perhaps even spitfire) sqds to defend karachi, not mention the avg and other P40 sqds withdrawn from Malaya (if you succeed to capture it) ! Even Nagumo's carrier force would have a very hard battle in assualting such an hornet nest, surely you must suffering at least half of your bombers, even with all your zero escorting, and there are British FAA and its nasty, nasty swordfishes....
In malaya the city just above singapore is the schwerpunkt of the theater, In PI the clark field, and in Burma Mandaley, unfortunately he missed them all. Perhaps for him it's not too late yet?
Ah....but you are not aware of my strategic battle plan for the destruction of Japan......let him take whatever he wants for now.................all will be revealed in mid '43.

Malaya are undefendable it is reasonable to put air force to fight another battle - on day 2 I had airfilds in Mersing and Songhkla full of fighters and dive bombers so your tactics would not work. don't be amused by having 50+ bombers - against 300+ transports 30+ wwarships and 200+ fighters there is no point in thinking this way
P40b has low number in stock in early war so it is easy to put it out of use fast
hurris are much later - when there was no allied Mandalay - it was blitzkrieg
same with clark filed -check date - by the time it was taken there was no chance to fight there

yes
LCU combat works so when enemy troops are out of base and without retreat path
Raver made so in Burma and I lost lot of precious time

Geez. 14k naval shipyard points! I'd accelerate some ships.
Hiyo Junyo Shoho and Yamato finished
I don't care about accelerating Musashi
so all points will go into carriers
Shinano Oyodo and short+ medium range subs are halted

can we get a screenie from China? plz:)
And for all un-believers - Raver is incredible, he can sustain enormous casualties, he can be beaten to the death...but he will always come back...

it will be difficult later for me as Raver decided to take beating and his carriers are out of front
today 200+ B17 were seen on training bombing - I don't like what I think about
soon the beating will shift course

Indeed i will come back..........for all of the damage that Sneer has inflicted on me.......none of it is on critical equipment or units. The US and Australian LCU's and airfarces are still all intact. And while Sneer has taken a LOT of territory his problem is also mulitplied as to trying to defend where I will attack in force. I can afford to mass a huge amount of men and arms at a single point....the Japanese cannot simply because they DON"T KNOW where I will attack.

6/25/42
allied sweep over benares - again - good I started training program as it starts attrition war
29 hurris and spitfires for 11 oscar and zero
I managed to convert 2 inf div from china to Sothern army and now have 3 crack inf div in mobile reserve as well as 500-600 Assault points in various not deployed naval units
+ 2 rgt size units which are certain region reserve but can be oved out
2000 AP ready to reinforce any region if needed
I think also about moving tank rgt from china and use them somewhere else

I think Hien with 2:1 number adventage can easily handle unescorted B-29, so why not B-17? As long as Japanese hold Mariana Islands to keep open his com lines to DEI and keep out B-29 I don't think allied could be more than just a nuisance. But you should set up a houserule to prevent using Marine F4U fighters on carriers.

B17 can be sth more than nuisance and 2nd generation of my fighters is still in R&D + time needed to rearm groups - I'm slightly more focused on Tojo than Tony
there are limited options to allied
India / timor North NG / Salomons/gilberts-baker-canton/ wake-marcus/kuriles
china is out of war
wake -marcus - too narrow - too early
kuriles - too far too early
salomons - open
timor -serious later - now only limited air campaign
salomons - far too early
india - I expect bigger activity here
losing exp (75+)pilot is a waste when low exp(50+) b17 is killed in exchange
this game doesn't simulate diffrence in value between 1E and 4E a/c

Actually If his carrier force is intact he can directly assualt Home Islands in latter 1943. With every fleet carrier with an extra marine corsair sqd on board you just can do nothing about it. I learned this in a hard way...[:(]
Remember allied Int adventage? Eventually he would know several weak points on your home islands. And after americans put 8-10 divisions on shore there is just nothing could dislodge them.

This was a PBEM full campaign Dec 1941 onwards?
Which version of the game did you start at?
Did you folks upgrade along the way, and if so, which upgrades?
Was this a "historic start" or "non-historic start"?
Was this a "standard" game or a modified game?
Did you notice any particular problems or bugs?
How long (real time) did it take the two of you to get to late 1943?
These questions are important because we haven't had many reports of campaign games that have gone into late 1943.
Thanks in advance -

And how allied player suppose to fight 2000+ planes when Japan place then in home islands. This is completely untrue against experienced Japan player. This huge fleet will be in sight long ago before they reach home islands and Japan player can prepare everything, pull torpedo bombers with exp 80+ and good fighters also in 80+ exp. It is to risky for allied player to gamble because if he lost he will lost the war for sure.
Rule:500 bombers with exp. 80+ will go thru CAP in some numbers, and not forget KB. This attack againt experienced Japan player will end up in ruins and war for allies is lost[;)]

OK, it's long long ago without the benefit of user-defined upgrade. We just use default options (except ship arrive date and Jap sub) so I striked PH. I was a green player then, my carriers lost too much time hunting US cv (without result) and then used up all fuel halfway to Tokyo...
Then, latter 1943, He concentrated 9 or 10 US fleet carriers with no less than 600 carrier fighters ( I think he get some SBD off) , British carriers (Perhaps do not withdraw them, I don't know for sure) with another 80-100 fighters (Hellcat than wildcat, I think) and 6+ CVE with another 200 or so fighters (all F6F or F4U). And without upgrade Ihave to use those crap Hayabusa to counter them, with disastrous results. I even cheated , load my CVE with J2M (Historilly they cannot operate on carriers) to intercept them, with no success.( I was a poor player, I seriously underesmitated his ability so my carrier attack was not coordinated with land based bombers) And my surface ships were no match ( number inferiority plus Redar). I did have some Hien and J2M, but too few. He directly assualted Sendai and the war practically over by then.
