I watched the latest Star Trek movie last night for first time. I was not impressed. Glad I did not spend money to see it.

Wife and I liked it (we have seen it in move when it was released few years ago)... it was deliberately different from the past and "enabled" new future for the franchise...

It was a fun movie, but I'm certain a lot of trekkie purists were cheesed off by the amount of changes made with this "reboot", as well as with all the convoluted time-traveling nonsense in the story. The interior of the Enterprise's engineering spaces resembled the inside of Costco store.

Zachary Quinto's performance of Spock was very good (as well as that of his makeup artist). Sorry, but Chekhov sucked.

As I said, a fun movie, but I wish it was more sophisticated and "real" than it was.

I liked the new one very much. Never was much of a fan of the original series. Full disclosure: Spock is my idol. [:D]
