if I fly my 47s at 32000 ft, and the GE 109s fly by at 23000 ft,…….

In the game, does the player have the option of setting the altitude to fly the mission as we do in Uncommon Valour?

Yes, you can plot the Alt that the raid will fly at, if you also fly escort, you will be able to also plot there alt,

which so saying, if the raid is plotted to fly at 20,000, some of the bombers will be a but above and some will be a bit below, and the fighters will try and stay in there assigned Alt, but if fighting happens, they will break off and dive and climb and do what has to be done, so the dogfight side of it, could be almost anywhere from the deck to the Max alt (they don't normally climb higher then they were told to, but...

in case you don't know, BoB was pretty much one of the Grandfathers to Uncommon Valour, which you could almost say, BTR was it's father (along with the older West Front, East Front, PacWar and some others)

but in UV and WitP, they went away from the planes are flying the whole mission like in BoB/BTR, in those, they take off, then when they reach the target, there is combat, and flak and then they return to land, in BoB/BTR, they take off and fly the route, and combat can take place almost anywhere the raid happens to be at the time the intreceptors get there

Sounds good. I'd have given the Allison-engined ones an edge over the Packards below 15,000 ft, but the model looks pretty much correct as I see it.

overall, yes, the Kittyhawks are better then the F down low (by a bit) and about the same as the L, I was going with the lighter load and less weapons to keep them close to the same
 
and in fact, the P-40s when flown right, were pretty good, but they would never of been able to go to England and fly with the B-17s
 
Boy, you guys really side tracked me, I was hoping to have 2 or 3 other Updates posted by now
 
Plus, please remember, on posts like this, I am pretty much just going in General, and from Memory, I not really got all the notes and books outs to make sure what I am saying is 100% correct, just trying to get the basic idea out
