Question - Are theater HQ slots geographical?
Try using theater HQ slots common to your coordinates.

Answer - Yes.
The theater HQ slots have an associated HQ unit and this unit have coordinates INSIDE my map.

How do you avoid conflicts with hard code in slots? Most stock slots have associated hard code (according to a programmer). If you put a unit in such a slot, it will attempt to do things that were coded for WITP - to the extent it can. For example, I had fixed units MOVING - impossible though it may be for them - because they were in slots whic, in stock, were programmed to move.

Well, the problem of HQ is now more clear to me.
After a long test with different cam files and different map coordinates seems like the error was a corrupted file.
I restored a correct cam file and modify again to adjust the play zone to mediterranean map.
Now is possible change the HQ but....another problem just appear.
For unknown reason, the screen only allow change to "Southeast fleet" (in axis side) or "Mediterranean CM" (in allied side).
This is very strange because "Southeast Fleet" is in slot 27 and "disabled". "Mediterranean CM" is the new name of former Southwest Pacific theatre in WITP.
I think the problem is the map. Seems like the "hard code", for some reason, remember that the new map is over AUSTRALIA (in the original map of WITP) and only allow change to Southeast Fleet if you are japanese (axis) or "Southwest Pacific" if you are allied. This is my theory, anyway i cannot do anything to resolve this matter because is "hard coded".

To Sid:

I use only the original HQ slots of the WITP game. Simply had change the name and coordinates. Only some land/air units use new slots.

Hi,

If the Hq problem is tied to the map could you not move the co-ordinates over further to the east away from Australia use a big chunk of ocean ? Is this posible ?

The actual map use the original WITP panels number 10, 11, 15, and 16. Those are over Australia with a wheather like "med" style.
I think you question must be adressed to Cobra because he made the map i use.
If  the map is in another position of WITP original background "may be" the HQ problem disappear but the wheather....

The HQ problem is not so terrible like sounds (in my opinion). The restricted HQ continue work propely.
In the mod actually have five of six italian infantry divisions based in Italy (HQ Cs Italy slot restricted) and the axis side cannot embark those units to North Africa because are restricted so in my opinion the mod is playable.

The actual map use the original WITP panels number 10, 11, 15, and 16.
to try that experiment just copy the existing panels and rename to 12,13,17,18
map wise that will work when you reset the x-y co ords - but all the PWHEX and base locations
will be undone

Just give the British sufficient EXTRA PP to cancel out the withdraw order and hey presto, no problem.

This is a solution to NO withdrawn ships. I think is better continue force the british to do it. It's more historical, no?

I think the withdrawl is necessary, especially in the Med scenario. All those ships used for convoys to Malta once will be available to the British for the entire duration otherwise.

Anyone knows which british infantry divisions fought besides the USA in the west front of the North African campaign (after operation Torch) and when arrive to theatre???
None has answer my question about british MTB ships then i will decide the number and based at Malta.

Hi Fremen ,
Not much info on mtb's just a few bits and piece , it would appear that Coastal Forces were not very active in 1942 only gaining strength during 1943 which is out side your mod' time frame

10th MTB Flotilla - 9 old type 55-foot Thornycroft MTB's based at Alexandria June 1940
5 of these under the command of Lt Cdr E.C.Peake were sent to Crete-all were lost
4 were sent to Malta but only got as far as Tobruk , identifed one boat -MTB 259 - Lt Allan - again all were lost.

begining 1943 coastal forces in the Med had = 4 MTB Flotillas 7th, 9th, 10th and 15th
7 ML Flotillas
8 HDML Flotillas

the mtb's were amalgamated into 2 main flotillas the 7th (Lt R.A.M.HAENNESSY) and 10th (Lt D.JARMAIN)operating from Malta

April 43 - 32nd , 33rd MTB and 19th MGB Flotillas plus 5 more ML Flotillas became operational with 'D'Type Fairmiles,Vospers and Elco's

Also USN PT Squadron 15 w/ Higgins 78-foot arrived at Bone,Tunisia

Cheers

This information is very useful Iron, thanks. Would be interesting put some PT boats in Alexandria and Malta, my sources do no mention the year of operations, only the types employed in Med.
I finish with the land units. The last was the USA divisions landed in Morroco late 42, of course all those units arrive to England and Gibraltar and the allied player decide the best shape to use them.
Jump now to aircraft. Last days the new types included are:

-Bf-110E-1 (upgrade of the Bf-110D)
-Re-2001 OR and Re-2001 CC to be employed on the CV Aquila and CVL Sparviero, if the axis player decide to use both.
-Mc-205 (upgrade of the MC-202)
-G-55 (upgrade of the G-50 or MC-202)
-Re-2005 (upgrade of the Re-2002 or other fighters)
-Ju-88C-6 (night fighter)
-Do-217N-2 (night fighter)
-Hs-129B-2 (ground attack)
-Me-210A-0 (ground attack)
-Me-410A-1 (upgrade of the Me-210)
-He-111H-16 (to transport use)
-Do-18D-1 (patrol)
-Ar-196A-1 (patrol FP to aegean islands)
-Ca-311 (recon plane)
-RS-14 (recon FP)

Make the plane sides and tops will be the next step....

Well, all italian/german planes are finished, sides, tops and alpha tops. Obviously my "quality" is not like the stock but...
Now entering USA airgroups of 9th and 12th AF arriving area between oct-42/january 43. A lot!
Add also some new bases:
-Dures and Saranda(Albainia)
-Leros (Aegean)
-Msus, Mersa Brega, Soluch and El Agheila (North Africa)

Next step would be add the USA warships.

Update.
Testing version 0.943.
Some errors to be corrected:
-No CD Unit in Malta, the italian fleet have the possibility of smash the base with their battlewagons without damage.
-Some plane tops not lined-up.

WORK IN PROGRESS.
Devices: Finished.
Ship classes: Added CV Aquila, CVE Sparviero and improved CL Garibaldi classes.
Ships: Continue put delay "9999" to individual ships not active in my scenario. A lot of them.
Aircraft: Added SM-81 (italian bomber/transport), He-177 and Ba-88 (italian heavy fighter-bomber).
Aircraft groups: Continue, like the ships, de-selected air groups not active in my scenario. This is a must to prevent those groups appear in the "air reinforcements window".
Locations: Almost done. Thinking about add some new bases in Sardinia and Corsica.

This is all for now.

Well, the mod is finished. I'm now running several testing plays in Head to Head game.
However the pwhex must be cleaned to evade errors and this take time.
Also, remove from scen the original WITP ships/airgroups/units is a huge task to be done.

More news very soon and also some new pictures of the mod running test.

Fremen.

This is a terrifically interesting thread. I'd be glad to help any way possible. I have good sources for OOB in the Med. I'm also willing to do busy work, like removing unwanted units from the database, if you'd like.
