I remembered this topic and something fitting here. In Finnish anime/manga forum (now offline) one recounted his experiences in boot camp of Finnish Army / ground forces. Said that in mortar company they watched Silver Fang anime and everybody was totally into it. But mortar company has a lousy reputation which may have contributed to it. His theory kinda lost its base when he found out that in guerrilla company they watch Fullmetal Alchemist
