Fierce Soviet counterattacks near Leningrad, supported by hundreds of the new T-34's forced back the Finns from two hexes of the river line. Reinforcements have been rushed to the front and airstrikes ordered. The Kriegsmarine has reappeared to shell Leningrad, as well. Losses this turn were light during my turn, and heavier, yet still favorable, during my opponent's turn. In fact, a momentary panic ensued when I opened the turn and saw the that the Soviets had destroyed 21 pieces of my artillery. That is, until I opened the turn and remembered that mines are considered "artillery".
Phew![X(]

Kuchler reaches the Narva River, but the Engineers are not close enough to finish the bridge repairs. Hoepner pushes on against the Soviets near Luga and Staraya Russa. Busch takes Kholm, advances on Demyansk, and has elements outflanking Staraya Russa from the south, in support of Hoepner's drive.

Turn to NWF.
The 6th and 17th Army frontal slog towards Kiev continues. To the east the Soviets appear to be wanting to make a line along the Dnieper. We will cross somewhere though!

Fierce fighting near Leningrad as the Soviets strike hard at the left flank of Mannerheim's forces, temporarily retaking the Leningrad airfield. Finnish counter attacks destroy a small overextended group of Conscripts who were left to guard it. Mannerheim pleads with Leeb to send German reinforcements and the first of the Germans arrive to stabilize the front against the 2nd Shock Army and their hordes of T-34's. Uncontested control of the sea and air around the city allow for reinforcement, but the Soviets still have a large number of forces in the area, so it will be no easy battle for the city. Fortunately, Kuchler's forces, aided by three PzGd divisions on loan by Hoepner have pushed along the roads to within 2 hexes of the southern ouskirts.
Meanwhile, Hoepner's main force has stormed Staraya Russia and pushed past Sobennikov's NW Front, and threatens to cut them off from their lines of communication.
Busch has pushed through Demyansk, and is mopping up isolated, leaderless forces in the forests south of that city.

AGS Turn 8
The Soviet generals are quite impressive. They have managed to form a continuous line along the Dnieper from Kiev to Dnepropetovsk. We have now crossed the river, but due to administrative incompetence (i.e. me) there is as yet no bridge to support these efforts.
Things are decidedly not going well in the air either. A guided missile AA cruiser has appeared off Odessa and it seems determined to dispose of the entire Luftwaffe!

I am just referring to the silly AA rating of the generic Cruiser SFtype
