SSN Greenling has shot her wad. Ordered to return to base after sinking three ships in 2 days, she has only one torp left. Time for a refill.

Nope, use the 1 and then go home. The # of fish is an abstract, IMHO, not the actual # carried.
Of course BR is a good opponent, I taught him a few tricks of the game. [8D] Well, he brought lots to the table to start with.....

The 1 Torp legt means one salvo left. For the forward tubes this means four or six torpedoes left.

Bigred is back in action.

Japanese continue to gather information on where Bigred has placed his divisions in New Guinea before serious force commitment...
I think Bigred is going to try and be upfront in New Guinea because he believes if I get him out of it he will not win this game. If so, I agree with that.

Small Allied force push out small Japanese recon force from Buna, retreats to Dobadura and the Japanese take Gili-Gili capturing several hundred Australians.

Bigred catches a Destroyer force at Gili Gili that did not get out of range before the sun came up and did some skip bombing at altitude 100...
All bombs missed and at that altitude his bombers were badly shot up making the crews a little unhappy I imagine.

is the commander of the destroyer TF faceing any punishment, because he violated your holy rule #1 (move at night, sleep at day), ike?[;)]

Yes.
He was beaten with a stick when he returned. As severe as it was he might have preferred to have his ship hit and went down with it.
6-30-42
The Solomon Island chain is being rapidly encased in concrete, pillboxes, trenches, mines and other ugly things for Bigred.
Of note here I garrison Irau but do not build a base. Also, I only build up Lunga to a size 2 airfield. This is large enough to do what I want to do with it so if he wants a big bomber base there let him build it. The rest of engineer effort is into the fortification levels.
He will/should take it at some point so it makes it more difficult for him to capture and he has to work a little harder to get the airfield fit for his bombers.
I prefer this method of building, small airfields, heavily fortified...and mined so heavily one can walk from Shortlands to Irau on top of them.

7-10-42: An unseen jap carrier fleet w/ 7xCV/3xCVL w/ NO ESCORT sixty miles north of buna raked port Morsby w/ a successful port raid. Kates looking for my subs in the area sank 2. Also lost a destroyer. Jap Anti sub operations have been stepped up in response to the dramatic success of my initial operations.
Ike99 has developed a highly skilled method of moving his fleets w/o being observed by my scouts. Very dangerous opponent. Maybe the highest skilled player in our league. We will see. Would not it be fun for all of us to start a ladder? Who really is the top dog.

I have 2 submarines sunk and
2 destroyers confirmed that day. With one damaged you put in Port Moresby. You lost another submarine off of New Georgia the following day, confirmed kill.

It will take a little more convincing before Bigred realises his ¨Happy Time¨ is over. Another submarine reported hit...and far from a port.
