Turn sent gents. Did everybody start with tanks? Curious. Tom, I see your enhanced infantry/military village.

Ah, is that what the "(B)" stands for? If I build enhanced engineers, will they gain EP more quickly than regular engineers? [:D]

I did not edit the file before start so I do not know what was done. My guess is that the B people have a combat modifier that makes them more effective. There is no way to selectively increase the engineer point growth of a sftype. You would have to have a separate SFtype for this.

By the way: I'll be on holiday in France from August 8 until August 23, and I'm not allowed to bring my laptop [8D], so I will either need to beat you all by then or find a replacement/ally to play for me.
We should just be started by then. This is a pretty big map.

That trick i knew and used myself. Think this is a legal one.
And it gives definitely a small advantage. But to choose the right direction
to move the ship to is the pure luck....
For the combat modifier for the barbarians: Isn´t this visible in the game stats ?

Ok Gents,
Here are some of the prizes. Tom had to decline his prize for last game and the game was still a bit inconclusive for the other rankings, so the earlier prizes are also up for grabs. I know that Juergen is a bibliophile like myself, so I listed a couple of books from my library as prizes. First place gets first and so on... I will list more later.
oops, have to resize....try this...

Interesting books Russ. Yes, i like to read books about ww2.
But also history in general.

Oh Yea,
Here is the last proposed book. It's actually the followup to the Lawrence book..." Arditi of Arabia". This book is flying off the shelves.

Turn to Tom.
My first transport fleet has set sail, but nothing to report yet...
All my units are suffering from supply and readiness problems due to a lack of initial supplies. Also the terrain is pretty rugged. I'm gonna need some engineers to lay down some roads soon, but the starting city does not have a lot of excess production.

Turn sent to Russ. Key things I did:
- Found the special village and will make SMG to be used in city assault.
- Turn off supply to the tanks. It will be a while before they are in action and I have much higher production priorities.
- Positioned my HQ on the city and started A/C production for recon
- Put lots of very small units on my transports so I can make multiple landings in a turn. With autoconquer on, the typical move is to drop off, pick up and move to the next drop point. I built 3 transports last turn and will build two this turn. You need alot of transports because your perimeter increases as the radius of your empire expands.
The first 8 -10 rounds are probably the most important in the game.

Turn finished and sent. Good advice Tom. It's the little things that can make a difference. It's good to hear what you are thinking as I can learn from it.
Off we all go!
