IMO a significant fraction of what is published in the literature today includes errors, ommissions, or is a rehash of something already published, often by the same author.

Yes I have a Ph.D. (chemistry) and yes I am on the editorial board of a scientific journal.

Why would I do that. The Royals may lose a lot, but they don't spend 100's of millions to do it...., so I can actually afford to have a few beers at a game in my $9.00 seat. And as I was born in St. Louis and have been a lifelong Cardinals Fan, why would I want to commit suicide anyway? [:D]

Sorry my friend, I was not clear. My only point was as a Mets fan better to go the subway demise than the slower and much less sure way in KC.

I too was born in St. Louis. I was a Cardinals fan up till 1969 when I was moved to NJ. If I knew then what I know now I may have stayed faithful to the redbirds. Have to say though, I still like to see the Cardinals do well and they are always my second choice to win the NL pennant. My first clear memory of baseball was that masterful performance by Bob Gibson in the '67 Series.

Other than my younger sister and myself my whole extended family is from KC, still have an aunt in KC and one in Lees Summit.

Oh great!, now I have a hunger for the 12cent fries that went along with the 15cent burgers. Nickel 12 oz cokes with REAL Cuban cane sugar, fries that were aged and then cooked in lard, 15 cent burgers made from fresh meat; all paid for by picking up 16 glass bottles on the side of the road and redeeming them at the local pony keg, using that money to purchase a meal at McDonalds in Illinois where the sign stated "over 1 million sold"
I shouldn't have read this thread, now my taste buds will not tolerate what currently constitutes fast food for a month and I already can't stand my wifes cooking, so it looks like drinking a case of beer and reminiscing about the difference between a black & white and a color TV was green cellophane.
