You don't want Type 13 radar or rocket launchers?

WHO created this Editor??!! It is SOOOOOO simple to use. The thing is so intuitive it isn't even funny.
Steps Taken:
1. Create Shokaku-Kai, create her upgrade, and remember slot number for Class (1889/1890)
2. Move to Ships, find open slots (54-55-56), name the ship, go to 1889, fill in HQ, Random Commander, Base for deployment, and date of arrival. Repeat for each of the three CVs.
3. Move to air groups, find Shokaku Group, cut and paste into open slots (800-802), rename to Ryukaku-1 (Zero), go back through and update to appropriate aircraft model--size--and anything else needed on the screen, adjust experience, and attack it to your ship (54). Repeat process for Taikaku and Renkaku.
4. Follow step 3 for the -2 Daitai (Dive Bombers), and the -3 Daitai (Torpedo Planes).
It is somewhat slow and tedious but WORKS!

I've got Type 13 Radar and HATE rocket launchers! Were they any good at all?

By that upgrade screenshot, you've assigned no Type 13 radar to the class (zero mounts). No, the rockets were not very good.

BTW, the increase in light AA in the upgrade is a bit anemic. Only 20 more tubes?

Agreed about the light AA. You could do even more than the original because you have no rockets. I'd suggest maybe 11 x 3 and 20 x 1 per side.
On that note, as you are not adding rockets you can reduce the "Upgrade Delay" a little, as the AA Rockets seem to be the reason a lot of the final conversions take so long. So maybe a delay of 15-25 is more reasonable.
Also, regarding airgroups - as these are late war carriers, they should have "Experience" and "Morale" fields set to 0 like the other latewar CVs. This way they use the IJN pilot pool experience, and will need working up before deploying into action. Look at Unryu-1 as an example.

The rocket mountings were adapted from the triple 25mm mounts, so with the Shokaku having six of those in real life, that gives you potentially 18 more tubes right there.

Terminus--Thanks for the one-direction radar pick-up! [&o]
Will add those tubes to the AA!

Good Day Sir. What sort of art do you do? We are certainly gonna need some new art for the planes that have been created. Might that interest you?
Happy to do air or ship art - just let me know what sort of thing you want. Some of my work is shown here...

That is NICE work! FatR and BK--Which planes do we have that will need artwork? If you guys could post here then maybe chat about it on the Thread it would be informative.
None really ... A6M4 with A6M3 fixed wings and A6M8 62 larger Kinsei engine could deserve something .

Are you going to add a 3 or 4 plane Chutai of recon Judy's to your heavy CVs (based on when they become available)??

Thank you. I'll need all the help I can get when it comes to the aircraft stuff.
OK. Can you send me the scenario file to work on directly or should I just write a list of plane stats for you? In either case, I need an outline of your final choices for fighter development.

As far as I remember the general consensus by the end of the previous thread, that's true.
Also, some planes that we haven't talked about yet (due to focus on single-engine fighters) IJN's Ki-67s (IJN operated a small number of these bombers in RL) and Ki-83s (Navy was interested in this plane as well) - if they are introduced in the mod - might deserve a repaint.

If you do work out a repaint for these I would be interested in them too as I am adding these to the IJN for my scenario's too.
The ASW variant of the Ki-67, the Q2M, might also deserve its own art.
Snow!

Morning guys. For a state supposedely experiencing 'Global Warming' we just got a beautiful, wet, HEAVY 12" snowstorm last night through this morning. They are predicting another 3-5" today. Marvelous stuff to wake up to! My eldest's school is closed and we will experience a day of building snow forts and snow men.
The good news with that is they will BOTH take a nap at the same time so (if I tire them out) I should have about 3 hours of peace this afternoon for Mod work. Here is a picture of the storm and view of the back yard as well as the front yard with the park we face:
