Castor Troy, I too was sort of surprised when I started (like a maniac) the on-map training. Like 4 or 5 months later there were literally hundreds and hundreds of trained pilots (skill).

I guess there are two sides of the coin here... One side (the Americans) produced many many trained pilots. The other side (the Japanese Navy) lacked trained pilots (which was catastrophic).

How do we model this? Reality or balance? [8D]

I hate to question a dev, but I'm pretty sure I've been able to train past 70 (in skills, not experience). It is definitely much slower. I'm pretty sure I've seen 72 and 73, not sure about 74+

Unless... if they started at, say, 69 and a random gave them a couple points at once.

I've seen training pilots occasionally go above 70 too, but not by much and it's fairly rare.
