Mornings: Coffee.

Evenings:
1. A nice Irish whiskey. Jameson 1780 is one such. Black Bush or Knappague castle are fine too.
2. A decent Bourbon whiskey. While many turn their nose up at mid-priced Evan Williams, it's fine for daily enjoyment. Otherwise, Maker's Mark will do fine.
3. Gin (Hendrick's) Martini over the rocks. Two olives.

HAHAHA! I assume you are playing as Allies. Because the Japanese player choice would be like an upside-down pyramid! When the game starts: an orgy of conquests (= vodka), then whiskey, several beers, water etc. etc. [8D]

Most time it's natural water or a herb tea..... (stomach problems....)
But during long evenings on weekends or holidays I prefer to enjoy a good single malt.......

Guess in my current PBEM I should really be drinking saki although that's unlikely to improve my gameplay much.

Depends on the game situation.

1. Anticipating a glorious Japanese turn...Scotch.
2. Long tedious turns with the prospect of little happening...water or the odd Diet Pepsi.
2. Anticipating having my ass handed to me...Milk of Magnesia.

Water, always. Some turns played with  some dosses of blood on the rum cola at my veins have made me some bold movements....and mistakes.

Agreed, working 14 hours 6 days a week I really have little time for myself anymore, that hour I spend winding down usually is met with paying bills, or something other then playing AE. Really sucks the old saying "time flies when you are having fun" I find after one or two turns my hour is up and its time for bed.

However this holiday I treated myself good, entire bottle of Kraken Rum will be finished by midnight. cheers to everyone!

...I'm not much of an alcohol drinker.  I don't have anything against it, I just never saw what the big deal was.  My body reacts odd to other drugs, so I may not have a normal reaction to alcohol.

Microbrews are possibly Oregon's finest commodity aside from maybe timber! We have to have something to cheer us up from all the rain! I love my Oregon-brewed ales, stouts, porters, etc (which would be my answer)... I guess I'm a bit of a connoisseur (or maybe just a drunk [:D]).

That would be like living in Idaho and be allergic to potatoes or something! [:D]

Oregon also makes excellent pinot noirs. My SO prefers pinot over everything else. I bought her a bottle of Oregon pinot we're going to open with dinner tonight. Hopefully I won't fall asleep before fireworks...

I never liked beer. The microbrews are better than the fizzy yellow stuff, but if I am going to drink anything with alcohol, it will most likely be wine. My SO loves good single malts, so we have some in the cupboard, but we rarely touch them, nor any of the other distilled stuff people have left here. A friend works for the Idaho state liquor dispensary and he has brought us some unusual stuff. OK for a lark, but I wouldn't sit and drink any of it.

For those not in the know, the first two are teas, the last one, coffee. Although I would not say not to a glass of Chateau d'Yquem or any half-decent chilled Sauternes, if anyone offered

I'm with Mr Kitakami. A nice oolong or maybe a lapsang; don't really do booze if I have to think about turns and things.

Antigua is wicked good, as is anything from Caribbean/Central America, especially Guatamela Peaberrys. South America, Africa, Arabia, and Indonesia make some wicked good stuff, but something magic happens to coffee plants in that wonderful world bounded by the Caribbean Sea.

Lapsang soochong? I haven't had that in a while. It's a little stronger than Japanese hoji cha, and I am the only one around here that actually likes the stuff... great taste in teas, JWE

Actually, this game tends to keep me out of the bars more than a couple of times a week, so my consumption of malt beverages goes down during a campaign. That said, the occasional homebrew goes down quite nicely after sinking the Shokaku or the like.

Oh, yes Sir, I do like that roasted, nutty, campfire taste. Maybe that's why I like the Guatamelan/Jamaican coffees so much - that hint of roasted hazelnut/pecan flavor on the back of your tongue. Oh, yeah. Best in the world.
