XXX Corps Stopped!
There are at least two more 50mm ATG's covering the approach at the breakout area. A Staghound cautiously approaches, and explodes into pieces. There appears to be an AT Bunker there also! THREE ATG's! And at least one 88 a couple of hundred or so meters up the road from them.
XXX Corps is halted! They are attempting to get thier SP guns on target, but the guns fire only twice a round! Will that suppress the enemy ATG's enough to attack? Grim faced tankers think not. Loss estimates for forcing the passage are high.
Goblin- A Goblin is in a bind:(

hard fighting
Eindhoven has become a hotspot with at least a company of airborne attacking the East side. They bazookad a pzivd
To the East we have located a park of pack howizters and are shooting it up.
To the South we await XXX corps next move.
Nijmegan is holding well and so far no ab have entered the town...
Veghal seems to be holding despite the recent artillery attention, several more ab units have been dispatched.
Grave East is under attack but our men are holding well.

SS Units Arriving...
As regular army units continue to hold and block the Anglo/American advances towards the bridges....our vaunted SS units continue to move into position to crush those Allied units foolish enough to have positioned themselves in isolated areas of several Dutch towns.
I can see the look of disbelief on the faces of several prisoners that are being marched to the rear as our armored column passes them. It all too obvious that they were not expect us.

Turn 4
This was a good turn for me.
If those 2 bungling buffons think they are gona sweep me aside they have another thing coming.
Ill fight them until hell freezes over then fight them on the ice.
101st:
I free up alota units now.
I took a square block and a fierce firefight has erupted.
My units are moving house by house but my landing zone is being attacked on 2 sides now.
82: More of the same.
Im about to enter the town
I routed a platoon of infatry on the edge of town.
British 1st:
Still quiet still moving throught the town.
I encountered a SS platoon which orzel doesnt have anymore
Keep it coming boys my AB units have plenty of ammo with German names on it.

Goblin- A Goblin loves the pep talk:D

XXX Corp stopped cold again, high morale or not! The tankers have lost a Sherman, a Daimler Mk 1, and an AEC Mk1. All in exchange for... Nothing. Wounded a 50mm ATG. There is still one more, plus that AT Bunker is a killer. Still facing three AT guns, and down three tanks (again, there is also an 88 right up the road).
Normally, I would call in arty to suppress them, but they are either out of contact, or fire twice, which does nothing.
Shot up some infantry probing just east of our breakout point, but lost a couple of halftracks to them. My luck is horrible! They only fired at 10% or so, and still killed those tracks!
The airborne must hold! We are trying, but are gonna be very late!
Goblin- A Goblin dismissed the XXX Corp commander

I didnt make that up......it was writen in a knoxville newspaper in the fall of 1860 defending the Union if Tennesee seceded.
Opps Jess I forgot to send you the turn Im gona do it here in a sec.
I also have a question...
One of my AB units dropped in the water and lived.....is there any way to get him to move?

airborne fighting like soldiers at last...
We have come under increasing pressure!
Eindhoven West is infested with airborne, however we are still killing them.
Nijmegan has now been reinforced
Groosbeck has come under what could be company attack and our small platoon are falling back
There is heavy fighting to the West of Grave which is also under company attack.
Veghal seems quiet for now...
XXX Corps have probed East of the road, we have now destroyed a total of 5 (count em!) halftracks.
Orders have been received to seal off Arnhem from all sides... We are complying and cooperating with the SS units in the area...

SS Units Strike Back
Having lost two units to AB AFV's in Arnhem we have taken some vengence in the form of:
1. Destroying one more Bren Carrier.
2. Retaking the VH hex on the Arnhem Bridge...albeit at the cost
of one recon AFV...small price to push those Brits back a few
hexes.
Elsewhere a couple FJ units took out a MG to the north of the Grave Bridge...then teamed up with a regular army unit to make a 101 squad do a "Death Jig". (That was really entertaining!...be sure to watch it FJ....not bad for a "bungler".)
Our men fire on the enemy...and the unit retreats...only to get hit and forced back the other way....which puts it in the LoS of the first unit...which blasts it and sends it fleeing back onto the guns of the second unit....over and over this goes, until it is wiped out.
The rest of my units are busy elsewhere...they are preparing a surprise for our un-invited allied party-crashers.
POP....CRACK....SNAP... Ohhh, what is that noise? Why it sounds like the ice covering Hell itself may be cracking!

Both 50mm ATG's are dead. Just north of those houses, an 88 sits on the road. Five or so hexes west, sits another. I have managed to put both guns under fire without losses. Their crews have taken heavy casualties. No sign of the AT Bunker, but I did smoke its suspected location last turn...
I lost a tank to a mine that was in a hex that I have driven through maybe five times!
Orzel! I blame you! Don't care if it wasn't!
If those 88's go down, or abandon their guns, I will link up with our fine AB boys soon!

Turn 5
The situation has become grim this turn.
I spot about a dozen tanks all over the map.
101st:
For all my gains their wont be too many more.
Ive taken 75% losses here....
I own the west end of einhoven but thats it...I wont be getting much more.
82nd:
This is progressing well
I own Grossbeek and am starting to move into Nejimegen itself.
I spot several tanks and German spec ops teams here.....the hitched rides on PZ IV's
1st:
The area is in dire straights now
Orzel is rolling across the river with halftracks and infantry while tanks on the opsite shore blast at me.
Unless Goblin grows wings I wont have any units left here in 20 turns.

Holding
We can report significant enemy losses in the Eindhoven sector... The airborne in Nijmegan are few and are being engaged. Groosbeck however has been lost to the enemy. Fighting is still intense west of Grave and we have joined our SS compatriots in the sealing off of arnhem...
We are expecting XXX corps to break through towards Eindhoven in the near future...

The SS Strikes...Again!
Having bashed those Tommy AB boys off the bridge last turn, SS Oberst Orzel decides to pay them another visit.
POW! A recon car smacks a Bren Carrier in the northern part of town. The passengers...a 6 pounder ATG unit...panic and jump out into the street. The Bren Carrier is finished off...then comes the turn of the ATG gun itself. A nearby SS unit closes in like a shark on a fish in distress...BLAM! One dead ATG gun litters the streets of Arnhem.
Just as this happens a second recon car crosses the bridge from the south. Backed by infantry it takes fire from a lone AB unit but then drives the English unit off to the western side of the street opposite the northern ramp. At the same time a second SS unit moves towards the bridge from the northern suburbs...it enters a house facing the northern ramp of the bridge...and what do you think this chance venture uncovers? One...no two ATG's...and a second Bren...and some supporting infantry! Jack Pot!
In come the HT's and some supporting firepower! KA-POW! Add another ATG unit to the dustbin...and a second Bren Carrier is surpressed...sure to take some fire when it tries to flee. The other ATG, hidden in a house, is riddled non-stop...until most of its crew is killed off. Perhaps they might get a shot or two off next turn...but they are hanging in the wind regardless.
More SS units move towards the bridge from all directions...the battle for Arnhem is beginning to boil! Whatever sector Tommy moves to bolster will only result in another being weakened. To crown off the final moves another VH falls back into our hands.
Elsewhere...in Einhoven a FJ unit whacks a 101st unit...and then batters two more, sending them running for cover. They do their part to make the Allies pay dearly for whatever ground they take.
At the little town of Grave a 101st MG unit is punished a bit...and it too runs off into the fields...hot lead chasing it as it goes.
Over-all, a very productive turn. The anti-tank capabilities of the the 1st AB have been weakened...and in just in time for the approach of more of my units from every end of town!
It is the intention of my SS units to eliminate these intruders long before their comrades can make the long march up from the south. I hope XXX Corps has a lot of caskets in supply!

To keep the spirit...
...let's keep it in line here; There can't be a "SS Oberst Orzel"..
The nit-pick dept. accepts one of the following:
*SS-Obersturmbannführer Orzel ____(lt. Colonel)
*SS-Standartenführer Orzel ____(Colonel)
*SS-Oberführer Orzel ____ (senior Colonel)
That's all. Carry on, carry on! Back to your business!
