Just t0 narrow it down a little further

i installed the 258.96 drivers on my GT220 and no problems.

This , i guess, leaves three possibilities remaining.

1. Nvidia have stuffed up with the 400 series cards

2. User video settings are incorrect

3. S3T need to work out what Nvidia are doing - see #1

Number 1 sounds a bit harsh but probably is the problem, Nvidia have stuffed up, but it could have been said in a more palatable way to someone who bought a new expensive video card....

Just because it is the same driver package does not mean that all the same files and or paths through the code/files are being followed on different video cards....

Thanks Andrew for testing. Very suprised that this is specific to 400 series but at least we know now.

There is a new 260 series beta driver available from NVIDIA - please give this a try when you can and let us know the results.  It can be downloaded here:

I have the exact same problem. It's new to all my Close Combat games (that's all of them) since I upgraded to a HD monitor, Windows 7 (64 bit) and - as above - a GeForce GTX 460. I've just switched to the latest (beta) 260 drivers recommended above by Steve and it makes no difference. Please, please try to fix this. The games are not really playable without the use of the zoom out mag mini map because you can't see enough of what is going on. The GTX 460 is a very popular card, so this problem will be widespread, I fear. Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback on the use of the 260 drivers Phoenix. We're doing what we can but the problem is on NVidias side. Steve has contacted Nvidia to file a report. No guarantees it'll prompt Nvidia to action. You can help by filing reports with Nvidia as well.

I have contacted NVIDIA about the bug, but no response so far.  If anyone with the problem would be willing to help me test possible solutions, please send me a PM.

This sucks everything works perfect on advanced graphic games. But when you play a non graphic intensive game like the Close Combat series. You get problems. i Do hope we
can work out an solution to this problem related to the Nvidia 400 series cards.

My own cards is an gigabyte 460OC 1GB. Latest firmware and latest Bios.

Still no driver from Nvidia that solves this issue!

No! Only the closecombat series.

Do you own any other non-3D engine games you can test this with other than Close Combat?

But when you read nvidia support forum this issue is reported for other games to!
The problem is to get Nvidias attention to this problem. I think the only thing is for the
developers of the close combat series to report this issue to Nvidia.

I have tested the new 260.89 WHQL driver. And the issue is not fixed. This issue sucks.
Who knows when Nvidia will fix this issue, maybe never.

arnhem1944 have you tried Windowed mode?

My Nvidia 8600 GTS died this past weekend so I picked up a Nvidia GTS 450 for Windows 7 64bit computer. Installed driver 260.99, resolution 1920x1200 32bit color and LSA in Windowed mode and I have not see the corruption when using the view map preview when I click on a battle name or zoom out in battle....

Update:

As soon as I hit begin to start the battle when zoomed out the map became blurred. Before starting the battle it was fine....

Also the post battle map is corrupt.
