If you want chicks to play, just have a few b*tchy housewives as pilots on a CV named USS Fabio and they'll flock to the game.

Unfortunately I think your wife has hit the same realization I have. I've tried a few times, never made it past about mid-march 42 in a game. There is just too much to do, too complex, and that does make it rather boring, since you spend far more time in the orders phase than watching the turn play out. WiTP Vanilla was fine for me, AE went too in depth.

I consider some of the familiar names of Matrix crew members and TV stars in game to be "Easter eggs"..
