The sIG's are avenged! We popped the AA crew one by one 'til none remained! *blam* *blam* *blam* Half the airfield is now firmly in our hands!
Fighting around Station #1 is intensifying. The Ivans are well sheltered by the houses. That is, if we don't give them a 15cm shell through the roof.

They are slowly driven back, house by house.
An EXTREMELY courageous SdKfz250 has withstood no more than 8 close assaults

, and paved the way for more troops through a park separating two blocks. We have now clear paths for bringing in heavy support.
Troops still closing in on the front continue to find death from below. 2/3 of a StuG battery is out, as well as a PzIV who was stupid enough to enter the Krukoy Gully.

Motorcycle and infantry scouts have entered the factories east of the workers housing area. All is eerily quiet. A startled scout suddenly realizes that the entire factory he has been watching is a fortress!
This 'Factory Fort' is bristling with armament! Another is soon spotted! Motorcycle units move amongst the factories, but find no enemy infantry...
Corporal Ulrich manuevered the bike expertly, with Deitrich in the sidecar next to him. The four other bike/sidecar combos motored along 15 meters behind him.
The quiet made him nervous. 'It would almost be better if they would shoot at us', he thought. Deitrich tapped his elbow, simultaneously raising his rifle to the right. Ulrich looked and saw a wounded man, laying in partial cover near a jumble of dicarded molds from the nearby factory.
Ulrich signaled the squad, and swerved towards the man, slowing the bike. The 'man' was really just a boy! He was perhaps ten summers old! It looked like he had been gut shot.
Sergeant Goering came over with Corporal Munsch. The boy looked up weakly, and said something in Russian. Sergeant Georing glanced at Munsch, who stated, "He wishes for some water."
Sergeant Goering looked down at the boy with a tender look that no one in his squad had seen before. He unhooked his own canteen and knelt near the boy. Ulrich remembered that the Sergeant had a boy that age at home. This war is terrible.
As the Sergeant leaned down to help the boy, the glint of steel flashed in the lad's hand! Sergeant Goering staggered back, blood pumping from his throat! Mein Gott! It was an-
"AMBUSH!", shouted Ulrich, as small arms fire swept out of the nearby buildings. Shultz went down, so close that Ulrich heard the rounds slapping into him. Something warm and wet splashed over him.
trinkle-VROOOOSH!! A molotov cocktail broke nearby, engulfing Deitrich! His screams were cut blessedly short by a Communist rifle. Ulrich screamed orders, and the squad ran to the bikes, retreating as fast as they could.

We are being slowly pushed back. The Germans advance past their burning panzers and over the corpses of their fallen, as our comrades commanders have predicted. When they have spent their strength, our revenge shall come!

The only "strength" we're wasting was a few light AFVs (curse those mines!). We can keep doing this for a while. A few unseen units take potshots at us, but all they manage is to scare moles.
Seems the Ivans are pulling back? Can it be? Or are they just eager to take a swim?

They are even abandoning the forts after just two shells outside the doors! Tsk tsk. Parusski soldier, if you want to live, put your arms straight up and reveal yourself to us. We need fresh material for our mine clearing units!
We will send a raiding party to the Beer Factory within the next hour! :p

The fighting at the airfield is now over, as the last AA gun and infantry run away. The workers housing areas are ours. In the Red Barricades factory area, where those big 'Factory Forts' are, a 'Fortified Building' has killed some Germans. The big factory forts stay ominously quiet. Even at two hexes. I think we caught them from the flank!
Our first enemy tank is sighted by ground units. The reserve Luftwaffe is already enroute.
Two more Katyushas died this round. I would guess at least half a dozen are destroyed. Can you FEEL that, commie, can you FEEL it?!?

Greetings comrades this is a wonderfull party. So much vodka and some many pretty mortar girls it is almost enough to make a person forget there is a war on. The Gurmans are blundering their way forward into our ambush almost as if they don't expect one. Silly Gurmans. What makes me almost mad enough to leave this party and go out and give a few black eyes is I have heard our beer truck has been attacked and there are stories of Gurmans claiming they are going to capture our brewery. Let the rascals try. I will skin them with a dull butter knife and make hats from the scrawny pelts.
Payback is HELL!!!

The beer-loving people of the Motherland have committed that shining example of russian engineering, the almighty T-34 to battle. A swift counterattack against the german forces stalled in their advance on the beer factory has cost the invaders another flametank.
Presumably the appearance of this invincible supertank will scare the **** out of all those undergunned sIGs, SdKfzs and StuGs.
Are you afraid, german soldier?
You should be!!!:p
Time to head home!;)

Eyh, we don't fear no russian tincans if they don't stay and fight like men!
Since no T-34s are to be seen, we continue our advance with the usual dispersing of squads and stepping on mines. Highlight of today: An unfortunate squad stumbled upon a SMG squad barricaded in a (otherwise completely overrun) building at the very western end of the airfield. In the chaos that ensued, the Feldwebel managed to get attention from a nearby FT commander. Seconds later, the SMG squad was engulfed in bursts of liquid fire.

Greetings, I took my little rabbit gun and went out and shot me a couple of funny looking rabbits. It is a modern time. Who would have believed when I was a boy that someday rabbits would come in cans. Too bad the cans don't work these rabbits were spoiled even before I shot them. (they exploded) I almost scared myself when that happened.
(PS I never looked at any screen shots.)

Greetings, I have not looked at any of the posted screen shots. I figure they are for people not playing the battle. Every turn I get the whole map to look at so I don't need no screen shots.
Ever onwards

Another day at the job. Mines and fleeing Ivans.
Our brave scouts have reported numerous examples of that T-34 menace around Station 1. Said scouts are now very dead, but they managed to report back before perishing! Expect vengeance!
To their amusement, a PzIII platoon found a squad of very confused Russian conscripts milling about in the middle of their advance area. After short hesitation, the tankers took turns in shooting the little rag-tag team to pieces, the few survivors scuttling for brief safety in the Tsaritsa Gorge.
The advance has also destroyed a 45mm AT gun and driven off an AT rifle squad west of the Univermag. 200 meters closer to the Volga!

***GAME TEMPORARILY STOPPED***
Alright, no-one may care, but before we can follow the Wehrmacht's reaching the banks of the Volga, some things need to be fixed:
A presumed glitch in the game itself has given the Russian an Armor Toughness modifier of - get this - around 1650%!

This makes even the most feeble tankette VERY hard to knock out. :p
We'll see what the Wizards dig up.
Too bad!

It was sure lovely to see 50L60 shots glance off that superheavy BA-11 scout car with 400+ armour. The T-34 seemed less affected IIRC, but it was only fired on by a 20L55, never to effective against a real tank from the front...
Hope we get this straightened out, I still have several old emails with zipped turns if this is any help...
