Here's my supply question. What is the difference between my supplies in brown to the far West and the blue and dark blue?

Berchtesgaden got annexed by Austria? Maybe I don't recognize the German-Austrian border there ;)

I'd like to hear the answer to that one my own self. Maybe it has something to do with the change in supply level in that ( those ) hexes?

Graz is the second largest city in Austria. The yellow arrow in the other screenshot is showing how all the forces moved from the Austrian mountain road south of Innsbruck.

Not sure I understand the comment. Both are cities in Austria.

As I move all these Austrian reserves into Germany, however, here's the view I hope to have from the former Eagle's Nest.

Only the blue side can trace to locations in blue. Only the red side can trace to locations in red. Both sides can trace to locations in gold.

Look more carefully - it's in West Germany.

But my references to Austria in both screenshots show Graz and Innsbruck in the shots. That is Austria.

I'm still not sure I understand how this would be possible. The gold squares are the far western border of my map (I'm blue). There are no red forces in sight or anywhere near so how could they share this supply point?

That's why I didn't understand the different color coding there.

So, even though my far western border is nowhere near the enemy red forces, this is showing that they have the right to supply if they ever reach that spot?

It's only turn 6 and you can see my friendly losses are approaching 2:1. Please note the withdrawn force screenshot question at the bottom of this jpg below.

I'm just lucky I guess. Sometimes I have to make my own luck however.

Somehow I missed that in the news briefing. As bad as it's going, the entire NATO forces may surrender soon. But I'm learning a lot -- mostly how to get my clock cleaned by a great trainer.

I appreciate Larry's patience, willingness to help others, and encouragement. He's a respectful winner -- which is hard to find nowadays, especially in pro sports.

Strange. The Austrian surrender happened on Turn 3 when you declared war. Wonder why the troops didn't get withdrawn until Turn 6?

No. Your loss penalty is approaching 2:1. The loss penalty is increased by losses but decreased by replacements. The WP got a big slug of replacement tanks at the start of hostilities - skewing his loss penalty.

Graz & Innsbruck are in Austria. Berchtesgaden is in West Germany. Note the boundary line.

You must have a breach in your frontlines somewhere, allowing the supply path into your rear. The path must be stopped by your units or their ZOCs in order to be blocked. Otherwise, it can snake to anywhere.

Thanks for your post. Helpful in understanding. So it's a very good number to consider representing overall power on the board.

Evidently one enemy paratrooper in the middle of nowhere could do this? Especially if he's on a key road?

So um.......here's the front lines as of the end of WP turn 7. I dropped more paratroops by helicopter near Amsterdam.....let's see if the Dutch surrender or not. I've got some reinforcements going to the weak areas of my lines so in a turn or two I can stop worrying about breakthroughs, maybe. Roger is pushing his reinforcements toward the front lines as fast as he can no doubt. I broke what bridges I could as I could to slow that process down a bit. Lost some people doing so but they saved a lot of lives doing that, I hope. If the Dutch surrender I might just be able to get a crossing over the Rhine. Maybe. We'll see.
