A Emperor of the Fading Suns type game!

This....

+2

I've long heard good things about EotFS. Would love to see either a sequel, or something like it at least.

Something like a Medieval Europe turn based strategic level game.
Maybe made by AGE engine or COG:EE engine would be awesome.

Also, this. Would love to have it include tactical battles as well, but it wouldn't be necessary if the strategic portion was deep enough.

I would like a game covering the entire Pacific War but with a lot less micromanagement than WiTP.

Ever look at the game at Shrapnel?

What is the name? I'm curious.

There is a Hundred Years War online game believe it or not. Designed by
James F. Dunnigan.

It has quite a bit of roleplay involved however. Once upon a time as King of England, playing the character of Edward III I defeated France with my company of merry men. We had about 40 people playing various nobles on the English side and many many opponents as French and HRE nobles.

I was a cruel conquerer in the end. Ordering the beheading of any french noble that didnt accept my offer of "reconcilation".

The game had however some fantastic aspects, lineage, the ability to manage a family, hiers, and so on.

Hundred Years War with multiplayer options - a detailed in depth game with thousands of real people who participated modeled.

Barring that, WiTE engine adopted for a WITW with Africa, Mediterranean, Italy, then Normandy to Berlin.

The last is something they have said they are looking at.

I want a squad level 2D or isometric (no f'ing 3D) WWII game a'la Steel Panthers II,SPWAW, Shrapnels WinSPWW2... I too do not care what it is called...I just want a fresh start on this type of title and not a patching and bandaging of an old (but dear) fart on life support.

Also, I want a WWII naval tactical game. I know Chris at NWS is stopping developement (or now it seems he is indicating that it is just a drastic slowing down) of his excellent Warship Combat: Navies at War due to lack of sales...maybe Matrix should approach NWS about handling and sponsering this title...just a fantastical idea...

Sounds great! NWS sells boxed Matrix Games and Matrix Games publishes NWS games.  A good partnership.

Ah a real sequel to PACWAR!!!
That's my dream also.

The Shrapnel game is called War Plan Pacific. It's good fun but nothing deep. So you get to see everything it has to offer after a few games (which can last for a few hours, even one sitting). Pacwar is deep but human control is set at a high level (a good combination).

I'm want some modern stuff.
What about post WWII version of the Command Ops series (Korea, Middle East, Cold War Europe)?
A highly detailed operational game of Korea or Middle East conflicts in the same vein as WITP / WITE.
A better depitction of the Vietnam and Middle East air wars as compared to the HPS offerings, maybe use a modified Ealge Day / Bombing of the Reich engine.
A CCMT that is done right.

Good thing, JTCS is getting a modern warfare twist and Flashpoint Middle East is in the works.

I don't care if you have to play the game alone. Get a grip, play both sides hotseat and shut up.

Well I don't care if you only want to play the game hotseat or PBEM or MP only, so shutty. [:)]

SPWAW upgraded to modern PCs (higher resolutions etc.)

Never going to happen. For one thing is it old software that is not owned by anyone that gives a damn.

I want the best solution. Let it die, and start from scratch and make a NEW game. Make it look the same as Steel Panthers, and seem like it is Steel Panthers and as complete as Steel Panthers and refuse to screw it up in any fashion ie leave it 2d look down turn based squad level WW2.

I am fully aware that Combat Leader hung around too long and died a miserable death. But not before making Matrix Games look bad for never showing up :)

Clearly Steel Panthers required some damned fine skills to make. And clearly it's successor will require the same level of skill, or you ain't getting a good game.

What boggles my mind, is it's just a 2d look down squad level turn based wargame.
It merely needs to be written again, as if computers really were running on Windows 7 and hard drives were measured on Terabytes and processors had incredible speeds with RAM measured in multiples of gigs.

I mean, no disrespect for the original creators of Steel Panthers, but the game was not that shockingly difficult. Or, is it that the people in charge of Combat Leader were that removed from the level of skill of the original creators of Steel Panthers?

All I want, is a 2d squad level WW2 turn based game that just happens to 'look' like Steel Panthers. I don't give a damn what they call it. I just want people to accept, no one is ever going to miraculously transform Steel Panthers any version into modern software. They'd have done it by now if they could. It's been a decade eh.

I'd also like them to kill off the spastic delusion any of us 'need' the AI in computer World in Flames which will fight like a moron, and we all know it will be a moron.
I don't care if you have to play the game alone. Get a grip, play both sides hotseat and shut up.
I'd just like them to finally stick the game on sale, so I can finally put my board game out to pasture as it is too big for even my 4'x 6' table.
As I see it, the constant wait on this game, has made it look like a Road to Moscow Duke Nukem tragedy. We don't need any more progress updates, we all know hell will freeze over first. Saying 'it's coming along' only encourages us to laugh at you man.

Were you born this arrogant and nasty, or did you have to take a class?

NWS also published Supremacy at Sea. It never really took off either, for whatever reason. Graphics on both games are an acquired taste.

Both games are well supported, no DRM other than a serial number, and the developers are always good about answering questions.

I too would like to see Steel Panthers redone. I just can never get it or get into large operational games, or maybe my mind just balks at learning new systems. Probably the latter.

I really like BA, but just not enough scenarios, missions, campaigns, to keep you going back to it. The good thing is that you don't have to crack the manual to play.

I allowed three titles so I am going to take my third [;)]
I would like an operational level Vietnam game down to the company/battalion level with some special units at the platoon level.
