Not bad, although your AFV losses are a bit high. What's the air situation?

Not too shabby (about an 8-to-1 ratio).

How about my general advance compared to yours? Others?

Mind you my aim is mainly to capture Soviets now!

I'd say you're making good progress, but the situation in the AGC area is in serious need of a plan to get out of the current nigh stalemate.

Hi Mynok - good to see you Bro. How are you finding WITE?
Definitely different than Witp. [:'(] I'm just playing scenarios right now trying to get a handle on how to attack.
Logistics is challenging, even just in the scenarios.

My advance (in Army Group South) is now so far east that I'm beginning to see place names I don't recognize...[:D]
My plan is to beat the Soviets so much that they can't do much of a winter counteroffensive, because I sure as hell don't have a chance to create a coherent frontline before the mud comes.

Hi guys,
Comrade - I agree! So many Soviet's around. I need to bag some and make it to 'near' Moscow. 57th Pz Cps may have helped bag 80,000 Soviets SW of Velikiye Luki but they're now back heading east towards Smolensk.
Mynok - definitely different! Let me know when you're ready Bro [;)]
T - wow. Can you show a screenie of your game?
--------------------------
AGN - The Pz Cps have been successfully involved in the annihilation of 23 units - 150,000 men, 1800 ART, 550 Tanks south of Pskov. The aim is now to head east (and capture Soviets if I can) towards Staraya Russa and onto Vyshny Volochek rather than north to Novgorod....the swamps there aren't suited to Panzers.
An additional Corps (4 divisions) are heading to AGN to support the flanks.

AGC - no dramatic advances but with infantry fully on the scene the Pz Cps advance north and south of Smolensk....this is the northern 1/2 of AGC operations. The Soviets either retreat or I'll form a pocket or two......

AGC - southern half with 24th Pz Cps breaking out east near Gomel. They will swing NE if the Soviets don't withdraw......

I find your reports fascinating. It seems to me that you are trying to envelope Smolensk only with your 3rd Panzer Group. If you have success, I would try to repeat your strategy when I begin my campaign. How are you planning your rail-repairing strategy?

AGS -
Mainly local actions by 3rd, 14th and 48th Pz Cps which have encircled 7 Soviet divisions (3 Tank) around Zhitomir. This has also allowed the Lvov Pocket reduction Infantry to catch up to provide the bulk and mass that allows the Panzers to press deeper.

Hi alfonso. Glad you enjoy them!
Yes just 3rd Pz Grp will try to move around Smolensk. We'll see how it plays out!
Re: rail repair. Do you have specific questions on it? I have attached a screenshot which shows my forward rail repair units highlighted in yellow.

Speedy, can any of your Romanian units move to the Stanislav area, or is there a box around the area preventing them from going there? I noticed that such a no-go area existed during a 1941 test, but I don't know if it has been fixed.

Hi Comrade,
The box still exists. I thought it was WAD so have my Hungarian troops there [;)]

OK, thanks.
I guess it follows a line from the eastern and northernmost Hungarian border hexes, but the odd thing is that units can move west of the easternmost border hex of Hungary in Romania itself. That's odd because I thought the game only understood boxes and maps cut in straight lines (also the reason why the RtL map is in some ways less than ideal: the AGC area couldn't be excluded from the map).

Spent 50 Admin points this turn starting to move Support units around to Corps that I want them in. Will still take another turn or 2 to get them as I want them.
Aim is to have a selection of Gun/Artillery/Howitzer/Nebelwerfer/Pioneer/Stug units (minimum 1 of each) if I can at each Corps, 1 x 88mm AA unit at every Corps and 1 x PanzerJaeger Unit attached directly to each Motorised Division. In time I may shift around the Pioneer/Flamm Tanks to Corps invovled in City warfare (if that happens).
Losses for Turn 6 - 37 Soviet units destroyed.

Keep in mind that having lots of support units in a corps isn't particularly efficient, as some may not show up during battle as the chance that additional support units are added from a HQ decreases with each unit that is added. That's why I try to keep my combat support units in the divisions/corps (Soviets) and the artillery in corps/army (Soviets) HQ's.
