Not good... I once finished an AE game when this happened to me. Sorry but there is no way round it, peeking is simply cheating in my book.
Maybe it was a simple mistake, DivePac88. A wrong click [;)] We should give people the benefit of the doubt [8D]

Riga distance is 8 hexes now, port damage at 53.
T3 prior to any moves:
As expected my guys in the north were cut off, but the 2 new pockets in the south have held.
Currently Miller is starting to think about his "fight for every inch of ground" strategy

I guess that there should be 60+ units in those pockets, but hard to say how many of them are combat units.
My recon still cant reach Leningrad (I think it will not be pretty up there), but unless my recon missed a lot of units Novgorod seems pretty devoid of defenders, same for Lake Ilmen.
He's moved extra troops to Pskov so Novgorod and leningrad must be very empty.
Looks like I will have to bomb that pesky port in my T2 to get T3 supplies in Riga. How much effort is needed?

Doing it once is an accident, twice is suspicious and a 3rd time is enemy action, or using Ultra anyway.

Well, he has done it twice already - that is a trend. 3 times and he is qualified to be elected to higher office.

Look at the fort levels next turn. (Does anybody but me play with this on?) If he's got level 1s behind the Dnepr, force a crossing, don't let that get to 2 or worse. You can bounce that defense if he hasn't adequately entrenched behind it. It's a pity your infantry is lagging so far behind.
He's got some real weak spots there right now. Like that 1=6 motorized division, for example. (But zocs make that an unattractive crossing point.)
I'm surprised he left the rough terrain between Kiev and Cherkassy unoccupied. Yeah, it's on the wrong side of the river, but it can seriously hinder the Germans from throwing a bridgehead anywhere north of Cherkassy. Probably doesn't have the units to spare.

Around Kiev are some lvl 3 forts (I switch them off for screenshots - unless when going up against major fortifications - due to blocking the soft factor view). That mot has a lvl1 fort, everything else I am able to see is at 0.

Level zero in clear terrain is totally doable, even behind a major river. The trick isn't going to be clearing the hex, but having units with enough movement to occupy it. Your panzers are probably getting short on gas by now, even with aerial resupply.
Even so, if you can get across that on turn 4...that is huge.

Well, I reached the Dnepr, but likely taking Kiev will be easier than getting across, sadly the infantry I forced to retreat went right into the hex that contained only an HQ before, was hoping to take possession of that hex with the SS mot div (even if unable to cross the river itself).
Lets hope the the Soviet spies will not learn the exact placement of my HQs
And it is called "Angst"
Quick question Charon -why didn't you try to take a hex adjacent to Kiev or had he aleady railed factories out?

T3:
17. Armee (with the help of Romanian mobile units) keeps cleaning up the Stanislav pocket while 6. Armee together with XXIV Panzer who will get some rest while still fairly close to the lines of supply deal with the pocket to the north of Proskurov.
With the pockets largely cleared (due to terrain and the limited number of troops I am using the Stanislav pocket takes some time) the Red Army lost about 35 units (got some HQs and airbases here) with 230k men, 2.5k guns and 1.7k tanks.
Pskov is isolated after heavy fighting.
In the center infantry is starting to catch up to the panzer.
You already know what happened in the south.
At this zoom level showing forts is not that bad actually, you can't see their levels, but they dont block any ofter important information.

I wanted to keep my forces as concentrated as possible for now, but you are right, I might have taken more care about the factory evacuation. Due to this only 1 hex was really in range and my first attack was at the rough hex containung the single unit, but with a lvl2 fort there my attack was repulsed.
I think I dropped about 700t of fuel at those 4 HQs, but maybe I should have concentrated more on one of them.

Hehe, and just saw that I forgot to edit the first part of the text for the screenshot from what I wanted before seeing the huge MPs 1. PG still had, XXIV Panzer is now guarding the northern flank of 1. Panzergruppe, no rest for the wicked.

Your FBD is way way way behind Kliest. You really have pushed amazingly far and amazingly fast. It's going to be up to air supply to keep this thing going.
Watch out for fatigue levels. Those panzers are getting driven hard. Fatigue will kill your CVs and the point is approaching soon when you may have to rest the panzers, alas.

Yes, I wanted to rest at first

I think I dropped more than 1000t of fuel overall on my units, without the Romanian level bombers those tanks would have most likely run out of gas by now.
Basically this is what you get when focussing the mobile units, no way the RR units can keep up, even in the north with the Baltic zone making repairs very quick, but the south is pure hell.

I dont think you should zing your armor to the N into those swamps above kiev...you have major river, swamp, major river...that looks like way too much effort for your dwindling gas
Send them below kiev, get over the river then move them back up N on the E bank of the river and push those swamps from the E up against your infantry that are walking as fast as they can from behind
