There are really 2 distinct types of 4X players...those that like a game that can be played in an afternoon and those that wish the game would never end. You can probably guess which type I am. [;)]

I'm personally somewhere between. I like long, complex, games. But, I also like to finish them so I can play them again in different way.

I think Distant Worlds endeavours to be both does it not? I've had short quick games and long epic campaigns also.

Maybe not in terms of expansion as that phase is always over too quickly.
