Funny, she's headed for a horse ranch. I'll be there's lots of DMSO available through that place.
Are you using that stuff SLAAK ?
I will be soon. If its good enough for a horsey, its good 'nuff fer me! [:D]

Haha... are you trying to scare me because there will be no lights at night for about two miles? I'm told the stars are gorgeous out there though in the pitch blackness. I'll rely on my six dogs to keep the nasties away
Bought an LED headlamp though and my weapons will be here whenever my son-in-law comes to visit from Guam (he's promised an AR-15, a shotgun, and a good sidearm).

I'm curious to know how it works out for you. Were you planning on using it with aspirin or some sort of anti-inflammatory ?

Spent the day packing up for my move and cleaning the house... had five hired hands helping... no way I could have gotten it done by myself... still plenty to do tomorrow when I pick up the U-haul truck! My move to the Ranch will be Sunday.
So Excited... but so very, very tired at the moment!

Good luck. I was looking on the map to where the location are. I noticed I am stuck not too far away in Tuba City waiting for my vehicle to be repaired.

Hello friends! I'm moved in to my ranch and finally got the computers up and running again using a Verizon "MiFi" wireless hub. It was strange being without internet for six days!
Anyway, made it safely despite total exhaustion!
Learning to handle the horses, got all the dogs (six of them now) bonded into a pack, and am trying to master the complex wind and solar power system. Last night learned how to turn on the well pump and fill up the cistern, fiddling with the inverter settings, and getting the **** out of me when the generator turned on unexpectedly! [:D]
Running back to Pinon today to close out my PO Box.
I'll try to get some pictures to post soon!

"... and getting the **** out of me when the generator turned on unexpectedly! [:D] ..."
LOL, yeah I can imagine that scared the bejeezus out of you, haha.
I imagine that in your new place you have this luxury we don't have; lots of space!
Learning how to handle horses, sounds like a lot of work, lots of work really.... matter of fact, I don't trust them. They can be all friendly, next thing you know they get scared of something and off they go.

Will definitely make pictures a priority for tomorrow. Right now the wind is blowing so hard that all you would see was my hair blowing in front of the lens!
Did I mention that there is a major wind farm about 10 miles away from here? The turbines stretch for miles to the north. So... I think I can safely assume that wind is a constant around here [:D] Helps keep things cool when the temps go up into the 90's, it's always comfortable in the shade, even if the sun is cooking you out in the open.
I'm waiting for the sun to go down to do the chores, fill up the horse troughs etc etc
Took an afternoon siesta with the dogs...everyone just wanted to lay down for awhile.
No problems with the horses in the last two days, I suddenly realized that the reason they bolted for the upper pasture was that I was trying to hurry them along and actually scared them so they took off to a safer place. Once I just meandered with them they went right where they were supposed to go... all part of the learning curve.

I have pictures, but haven't found the damn cardreader so I can offload them onto the computer.. I'm still unpacking boxes after 12 days!
Super hot today... just got the horses in and settled back with a cold brewski... something I didn't do on the Rez due to it being "dry" (and as a teacher, I felt honor bound to set a proper example by not drinking). I had forgotten how good beer and pizza are together though LOL
Pictures coming soon.. promise!

Have one for me. Not allowed on the rez around here either but that doesn't stop anything.

Ain't that the truth!
At least my conscience is clear though

You will be unpacking boxes for the next year or so

Trust me. I moved to my current place 10 years ago or so... and I *still* have stuff in boxes. LOL

Good to hear you are making progress, and settling in. Give the horses a carrot from me. [:)]

This morning, Blaze (my Australian Sheep Dog Rez mix) proudly showed up at my doorstep with some kind of furry creature. After research I found it to be a "Southwest Round Tailed Squirrel" native to the desert. I wondered what all the little holes were on my ranch (too small for rabbits) so now I know. I had expected a rabbit!

Hopefully it's not an endangered species and the feds don't show up and arrest your dog. [:D]

They are not endangered around here. They are all over the place. They look like miniature prairie dogs. They sit straight up when they munch plants.

Shhhhhhhh! Keep your voice down Rhonda. My daughter would skin me alive if she overheard your evil plans for Leporid genocide. [:'(]
