Russian South, turn 3

There are lots of German infantry and tanks trying to break through! The first line of defense is falling but countermeasures are being taken.

Some motorized SS units drove a bit too close to our MGs and lost a few trucks. Slows them down at least... We are also seeing some flame-HTs! At least a platoon of panthers and two or more of other panzers.

Back to Kaakao.

The hero of this turn is that MG Orzel allready mentioned about, it killed an engineer-squad and shot few from another squad. Few infantry squads spotted a MC-squad and destroyed it. Still no sight of the major attack.

Destoyed several ATG's, MG's, rifle squads, and captured a VH all with minimal losses.

Salutes the progress made by my co-commander to the south. :)

I continue to move my forces about, searching out areas to pry my way into the Soviet defenses. Probe here, patrol there...do not fear my Russian foe, you will see enough of me soon.

Good news is there were no breakdowns this turn! :) And the MG unit that were labelled "Hero's of the Motherland" last turn have now been stamped with a new label: KIA.

The hill to the Northeast where it was perched fell under attack by some of my units there seeking to avenge the deaths of their comrades...and although it is a small victory, it is a morale booster none the less.

To end the turn I also popped off more "wasted" smoke...I like the fog of war. :D

zip refused to load...sent it on to Gmenfan for posting...

Argh! There are German tanks all around! They now have one bridge under their control and are approaching the others. A message has been sent to high command to send more reinforcements to the southern sector.

A PzIV gets a beating from one of our guns but isn't destroyed. Some German infantry is killed, otherwise things are looking very grim indeed...

Hopefully Kaakao will have better luck :)

No action what so ever in north, just lots of smoke and cb fire against german 150mm battery.

Patience my Russian Foe....

patience! :D :D :D

Of course, since it is so quiet up north here...feel free to send some of your "stuff" south to help your partner out. Hee hee hee :p :D

Hmmm...looks to me like this map needs some more smoke on it too. Have to look into that. :D

Password should be waiting for you. I have the turn I can't promise my turn today but I'll try. Just curious Kaakao/DerC how are your forces divided North/South just trying to figure out who is battling North/South German Commanders:p

The South is going to do it again!

For Orzel, Another good turn for the South, destroyed more SMG's, ATG's, with more on the run. Turned some Soviet soldiers into jerky with a Flammer, the're mighty tasty. Captured another VH, sacrificed an Opel to uncover some mines I suspected blocking a path, have an immobized King from a mine, hopefully I will gain it back before games end.:D  :p :)

goddamn this game sounds insane:D
just one question, did you guys buy all your equipment and if so, what were the points.
or is this a scenario with pre-determined units

The "Insane Battle for the North"..

has begun to heat up.

My advance units have had their first contact with the Russian Infantry! First, one of Ivan's infantry squads is caught along a tree line...it is machine gunned and breaks under the hail of hot lead...fleeing off into the woods.

Another one of my squads draws fire from an ATG gun along the same line of woods, it too draws a storm of return fire...quickly supporting armor moves forward and dispatches the gun and destroys the HT that was it's transporter.

Additional armor moves into the fray...and the unlucky Bolshevik infantry squad that thought it was safe is punished once again. Further more...the OT-34 flametank they thought they could use as support misses with it's first shot...and it is quickly set ablaze by an AP round.

The first VH on the northern front falls to our brave troops! Elsewhere our units continue to advance...and not happy yet with the surrounding "fog of war"....guess what else is on it's way? :D

Ok...back to to the Russkies.

Finally some success. With minor casualties I destroy a truck, immobilize a lonely Panther, kill some SS and damage a SPAA truck. The Germans are probably crossing the river now in one or two places.

I wish as good luck to my comrade in the north!

The battle has really started now.

The first counter-attacks have began. One Brummbaer was finished by two T34's. In the left end of the map were Orzel has captured the v-hex with a captured T34   , the tank even took some flames but just kept coming. Anyway, I attacked there with a group of SU-122's, 122mm shells did nice job from 2 hexes :) About 3-4 squads wiped out with help from other units. Also, some help has arrived, and some more will be arriving every turn....
