You MUST NOT release it without a HUGE update to pirates. Pirates are one of the MOST IMPORTANT features of the game. They should get HUGE improvements, like their own black market economy, ability to become a syndicate and more. Distant Worlds exists only because of the PIRATES. Without pirates you simply don't have DW, period. They must be given thorough consideration and attention.
If you fail the pirates, you will find a jolly roger painted on your front door the day before you disappear without a trace.....

Just make sure you release a competitively priced complete edition with both expansions because I know that would tip quite a few people in favour of buying DW!
You really need to price below a blockbuster title to drain some customers away from the mass market.

I like the fact that most features in DW can be turned on or off. I don't like pirates and play without them.

I will seriously be looking at that as well. I just watched the Lets Play series and have vaulted this game up to the top tier of my list. A bundled complete edition would certainly put it over the top.

We have a likely gold master candidate. We'll be testing it over the weekend to be certain. If testing goes well, we will aim to release on next Wednesday, November 23rd.
