Looks like another game affected by the 47mm AT bug. How many 47mms got built?
yeah we started this game with 1.04.18ish so there have been a few changes over time. I'll take a look when I get the turn back.
**** edit **** here is a screenie of the 47mm production. I cant remember who found the bug but as you can see from the condition of my units it was a great catch !!

Turn 143: March9th, 1944
Russians finaly breakthrough to the north at Danzig, torching all of my nice factories there. I have been hoping for a russian breakout in this area for the last turn or so, The SS were moved up a couple of weeks ago in hopes that we would have just this sort of opportunity.
Over the rest of the front the Hungarians surrender and the red horde is pouring through..... Maybe if I can cause enough chaos in the north some of the red army will get diverted up there.

Oh I thought this looked good for March 45 then I saw it was 44- oh dear
I hope the newer teaks make the game better - its still nice to see how the steam roller moves though...

Hmm. We keep being told that in late game G shortage is men not guns. Why should 47mm gun production bug affect 1944 as produced only in '41 IIRC?
B - have you got the TOEs of your artillery SUs down to, say, 50%? If not, doing it should solve your arms problem as you will then stop building expensive arty and start on rifles instead.

I dont think we can really use the numbers in this game, there have been so many changes since it was started.

The combined might of the remaining mechanized forces in the east, spearheaded by the 4th Panzer army's 3rd and 46th panzer corps, are brought to a halt after furious fighting just 10 miles short of their objectives on the baltic coast.
Needless to say the situation is grim for the exposed attackers and the rest of the front which has been stripped to provide forces for the failed attack.

Yeah, when the Armament pool is empty, disbanding HQ and Airbase units does nothing. Well, it adds Support squads, but that doesn't burn many Armaments anyway.
The bug bit you; hope you enjoyed your gold-plated 47mm!
PS: That was gingerbread who sniffed that one out, IIRC

Turn 144
German lines are crumbling, the boneyard continues to grow.
Hoping for mud, to make the Soviets go slow...
I have started merging units to try to build up some useful formations.
Screenie shows a shot of the front after a few moves.
4th panzer army is going to take one more shot at cutting of the finger of doom.
3rd panzer army is going to support a little and try to contain some of the disasters to the south.
@cavalry -- yes i was very incompetent in the the first part of the war, I had some very poor performance in '41.

Last gasp in the east ...
4th panzer army is rejected once again at the very end in spite of trading the INF from 56pz for all of the scattered tanks that had been supporting 16th and 9 armies.....

Turn 150:
Doom and gloom across the entire front .....
Actually got 2 more Panzer divs surrounded and killed along with a host of infantry geeks.
Holding back the tide in the mud, hopefully long enough for the ice to melt on the Oder-Niesse line.
Starting a Pool on when the Soviets Occupy the Reichstag!!

Interesting to see how the Axis army can be blown away that early.

I screwed up a lot, plus we found a lot of bugs along the way.
Getting pounded on all the way through '42 with the old school 1:1 rule was not pleasant either 8)

I think this would have been every game if the 1:1 rule had stayed. Anyway very interesting, please keep posting until the very end!

The one to one rules was a game breaker for sure. I am glad it was removed.

Turn 151
Minor defensive success, Clear weather in the Europe zone catches some russians unaware.
3rd panzercorps takes care of business.
The rest of the front is a disaster, maybe have a shot of it nexty turn

Turn 153
The entire front is a mess, Army Group Oosterreich is surrounded in Austria with little chance of getting free.
The rest the remaining Wehrmacht begins taking up their last ditch defenses behind the Oder.
I finally get some level4 forts built up so that will help a little bit. They took 3 months or so to get that high.
Shouldn't be too long now, the Mud will slow down the russians a little, but not much.
**** edit **** put 1943 for year instead of 1944. Must have been thinking of what I am going to be doing to sillyflower =p
