I completely wipe out two SS squads in the middle VHes,
A sergeant tried to plea his way to safety but was promptly gunned down by the Ranger squads' BAR man hehehehe.
"Rangers lead the way!"
2 commando units of yours to the rear are spotted, well emplaced in trees. Hmmm, how to root them out? Save me the trouble will ya and just come out into the open and fighT!!!

Death & Carnage back to you my friend
A rifle squad and an MG42 are destroyed in the middle.
To the south an ambitious MG32 is also destroyed
To my rear, artillery crew force a spec ops squad to retreat.
I hope you're not calling for reinforcements

The battle continues to rage in the middle. In your rear I continue to make progress even with that tank there

Another infantry squad is chewed up in the middle.
My rear 'meat-grinder' however is for >meat< only! Not for heavy tanks!!! My Sherman is blown to bits by a reinforcing StuG (geez! your really want those hexes huh?) In the forests, a Commando squad is forced back by crewmen. Another Commando squad is dispersed by heavy gunfire from an M3 Scout car.
I'm in deep trouble in the rear.... I don't know if I should send resources there. I feel that something's brewing in the south and a final push (maybe) in the middle.

In the US rear crewman are slaughtered. 2 of those vh's are mine now.
In the middle 1 defending inf squad is destroyed, and vh's start to turn german.
In the south crewman are killed as my forces there begin the slow advance foward.

2 more squads of SS are destroyed this turn in the middle. A brave six-man ranger squad volunteers to scout out the extent of enemy force in the hill and have barely moved 50 meters when they are hit with rifle, MG and grenade fire. They retreat, dragging two of their fallen comrades behind.
Oh man I'm in deep trouble now... The middle hill is literally swarming! The recon info brought back by the ranger squad shows an understrength company of SS! (one rifle squad thrown in) This is bad enough, but also climbing the hill is an MG34 squad and 2-3 Pz100 teams. Uh-oh...infantry attack with full support. The Rangers fix bayonets and await the enemy.
I can do nothing in the rear.
I hope my artillery arrives on time...

The middle is folding and fast. There is best I can tell only that tank left on the hill and it is 1 turn shy of being totaly surrounded. Inf and that halftrack up there are now dead.
The little support trucks runnig around south of that middle hill will not stop the wave of inf sweeping over the hill.
In your rear I think it must have been artillery don't know but everything there cept the PzIV is now running home.
So please if you have fast artillery on turn it off.

I don't know if I do, how do you determine? And what difference does it make in the game?
Anyways, an SS squad is forced back as a token resistance for that middle hill. The Sherman moves back to avoid being swarmed by the German infantry.

I will retake those hexes I promise.
2 more SS squads are wiped out in the middle. That leaves around 4-6 more plus Pz100 plus MG34, around 6-8 squads in all on the hill, piece of cake

hehehehe
I'm gonna turn that hill into one big crater soon, better get those SS running

Another SS squad turned into chopped liver in the middle. In the rear a commando squad falls back and suffers some casualties against a scout car.
A few more squads to go in the middle... I bet those tanks from the rear are running as fast as they can now to the middle aren't they?

Nope the panther is imobalized, and the PzIV is busy dealing with your scout car.
In the middle your artillery didn't completly miss this time and some casualties where sustained. However it mostly just hit empty dirt.

"Recon car delta, regroup with main force. You have done a great job. There is nothing more you can do there."
"Roger"
With a sigh the driver of the lone surviving scout car which has defended the rear for so long withdraws from that area, leaving the rear VHes to the enemy.
The rest of the American forces consolidate their positions and hunker down. Some men are rallied by their sergeants.
In the middle, the remaining shells from the barrage land, carpeting the hill and the surrounding area with high explosives.
I bet those SS of yours are now pissing their pants

Why yes the couple of squads of inf on that hill are pissing their pants, however all the squads flanking your 2 veh's are just fine

The routed M16 Quad .50s driver won't move so the M3 HTs gunner fired a couple of rounds at the approaching SS squad, reducing it to less than half strength. The M16 took courage in this act and fled south. With nerves of steel the M3 driver dodges a 75mm round from a StuG and drives back with the M16.
The last scout car in the rear is destroyed, I guess the crew were too brave for their own good hehehe
Artillery is on the way. More 120mm smashes into my immobilized tank down south.

I destroy 2 SS squads and a Pz100 team in the middle. A StuG is also disabled. The American forces stand fast in the middle. The crews of the M3 and the M16 are gonna get Medals after this battle, the gunner of the M16 especially, a CMOH no less

even if its post-humously...

my troops continue their press for the southern vh's. The foward southern forces meeting inf fire at the vh's. I have just enough time I think to assault those positions
