And then turn about is fair play.



The battle just took a turn. These are not recon elements that we are engaging. These are BMP IFV's. The main force is here now with their tanks as well.

The Soviet plan seems to be to move around the mine block to the south and then come out onto the open fields and fight there.

As the Soviets try to move forward they are taken under heavy fire. The BMP's are hit and at least three more are burning.

But we are not without our own losses. Some of our own smoke reaches for the clear sky.

My great fear is fighting tanks with IFV's and the outcome. A great shout goes up B Squadron Warrior's kill a T-80! For now at least we are dealing with the tanks!

How long that will last is anyone's guess but we'll take what we get in this unequal battle.

Already we are having ammunition supply problems and Ordnance ran more ATGM's out to C Company and the SPAT's supporting them.

In rapid succession the Soviets brew up our own IFV's. We can't sustain this loss rate!

Then the hammer falls! The hawkeye shooting of the B Company gunners hits the Soviet attack hard. Hard enough that it brings cheers from our men in the town and the line of BMP's pauses for a moment before starting forward again.

As the Soviets close up the river B Company continues to pour fire into them.

And again! They are starting to run short on ammunition but they keep pouring fire on them!

How much can they take before this attack breaks? As our lads are pouring out their fire they see the detonation of an ATGM and the hear the explosion as a Warrior is hit and starts to burn as well.




B Company is locked in a battle to the death with the Soviet spearhead! Can we stop them here?

We have to.

Finally we destroyed the entire Soviet unit.

Which was a good thing considering the rest of the Soviet attack is now moving forward.

I can't understand why we have no air or artillery support in a defense against a Soviet force of this size. Somebody at HQ dropped the ball on this one.

Even without supporting arms we are dishing out tremendous damage to their forces.

I manage to catch a BMP in the open and kill another one.

My Warriors are holding their ground and fighting tanks. I don't like that idea but these are Soviet tanks and we kill them easily.

On the actual battlefield an IFV would either have to ambush an MBT or get out of LOS from it.

In FPG I can attack them as long as I'm fighting Soviet tanks.

The Soviets have bridged the main river. I wasn't ready for that.

Now I have to react to their trying to move past me.
