So most of the Allied ships unload at 250 points per phase and you have ship that can unload in 1200 per phase very handy for hitting things you want to be completely unloaded before the combat phase starts ...
Thanks for that muchly. Now I know.

It's now 02:31 hours on 13May2012 and I sent my first turn moves to Rob. Um.....he and I are using slot 5 for our moves and I did a save into slot 20 just before I ended the turn so I could do some map studies and check stuff out etc. I was looking over what I need to do yet and where everything is and I found to my dismay that I neglected to order the move of some ground troops into the HK hex. D'oh. So he's getting a full-day reprieve there. I'll guess I'll use that time to bomb him some more etc. Or maybe I'll go after the ships in the harbour. Or maybe both.

Moving on Hong Kong is not critical at all. It will fall in December.
It is nice to get the 38th (?) division out of China as it is already free to deploy..

Yeah, roger on the 38th Division. There's actually a lot of stuff I plan on moving into HK but a lot of it's going to stay there too.....the ENG for instance will stay to build up the airbase and port so I can use it to store fuel / supplies from SRA or somewhere. I'm thinking of moving some fuel from Port Arthur to Shanghi just to get it closer to the action and maybe even even move the fuel to HK after it's mine.
I'm thinking of a large port like Manila but available soon and Manila is going to be several months in taking I'm guessing.

You'll only need limited amounts of fuel moved to Hong Kong. Most of it should go directly to the Home Islands and your forward operating area's. Candidates, depending on game progress, are Manilla, Truk, Rabaul.. providing you are using Singapore as a Trade hub.
Java will build up enough fuel itself and provided you take all of Burma that area should be pretty self reliant (Only thinking fuel here, not supplies)..
For the first two - three years Hong Kong isn't important at all.. You just can't allow the allies to keep it..

Sounds good to me. Um......there's a small number of Allied ports along the south coastline of China.......I'm thinking of Pakhoi etc. and I'm wondering if the Allied subs are using them to refuel. I'm wondering if I should spend time / assets to capture them to prevent that. Does intensive recon reveal the amount of fuel / supplies on those coastline ports eventually?

Recon does not reveal any stockpiles. I wouldn't worry to much about refueling subs on that side of China.. There is not much fuel there, ports are small, support is not present.. He is probably going to refuel and rearm his submarines in Singapore, Soerabaja, Colombo, Brisbane, maybe Darwin and Pearl Harbour/Midway...

I thought it might be a good idea to go through all the HI bases expanding the airbase and specific ports so that I could store more stuff there w/o spoilage.
Ports etc don't expand without Engineers... and you should be using them judiciously to expand ports that will be your convoy hubs

Larry, you can double all vehicle factories, and even that is not too much. Also, eventually you need much bigger Kate factory, size 5 factory is only producing 5 planes a month.
Did you mean to say double
ALL the vehicle factories? And then you'll need even more? Really? For sure? Well, I must say, that's astounding. BUT alright.......let's do it. Thanks. And about the Kate factories......um I was told to be careful and cautious etc.
when changing stuff in the economy and thought it sounded like good advice etc. BUT you're correct......5 planes a month isn't nearly enough. I predict that I'm going to need about 10 times that amount. I plan on being aggressive and bold but not reckless so I'm probably going to loose a lot of stuff...like Kates. Your advice is sound, sounds like to me.
I think I said this ... but some things need doing straight away!
Yeah, I recommend between 250 - 300 Veh plants. Build at multiple locations to get them built quickly.
Turn off 300 Arm plants ... [;)]
Maybe time to read my Econ101 doc or visit Mr Solli's AAR [;)]

The Allied ships are starting to flee the Manila port and Rob brought some minesweepers with him this time.....Tracker says the minefield at Bataan is gone now. D'oh. Well at least I got a couple of good shots off before they got away. I'm going to have to drive another sub or two into that hex to stem the flow of Alliled ships. It may be too late already though.

All those ships fleeing Hong Kong are getting away. They are already south of my position and if I run off in pursuit then the rest of them still in HK will get away. Maybe. Decisions, decisions.

It appears that I ought to pull my I-122 out of the harbour at Singers before I lose it. This is the first time in about 4 games that there's been any action at all at Singers on this turn.

No major damage, just a major embarrassment. Now I gotta put her into port to fix what's ailing her. The BB and a CA was hit later as well. Both of them no major damage though.

There was nobody at home at Tarawa so it's capture was a gimme. I'm going to Ocean Island next.

Tarawa is key and do defend this atoll .. look at Tabiteueua also .. all those atolls around Tabiteueua can be built to level 5 bases .. meaning base 4E's .. the allies getting a toe hold here spells much pain .. [;)]

I hear you. Thanks for the advice. I WAS planning on taking the troops from Tarawa to Ocean Island and taking IT with them but since you've gone to so much pain to explain it to me I'll use somebody else for Ocean Island. And defend it too.

I caught some ships fleeing south from HK and sank most of them. They aren't showing up on the map now so maybe they were all sunk. Maybe. There were some Allied sub attacks on the landings on the north end of the PI but I'm going ahead with the landings any way.
