Aw shucks, thanks. If I remember correctly, there was some talk of that in the AAR, with speculation about who would play which roles.

Personally, I wince whenever I see that one of my favorite books is being turned into a movie. But a British production of "HMS Ulysses" would get my vote. Or how about a well-done movie of "Japanese Destroyer Captain"? For a non-WWII flick, I think Fred Saberhagen's "Empire of the East" would make a great movie.

Ahh, I thought you were referring to my comment about HMS Ulysses. Thanks for the update.

David Eddings - The Belgariad/The Malloreon series. Written in the 80's and I think some of the best fantasy story lines written in a long time.

The 10,000, Team Yankee, and Red Storm Rising would be great but don't forget WWIII by Sir John Hackett.

WWIII was one of the first books I got from the old Military History Book Club as my 'book of the month' in the early 80s - I loved that book, fond memories.

And how did that work out for Early?

Um....well...you know....it started out REALLY well.  Right?  Early turned Sheridan's left flank and total victory was right at hand, showing that a bold and decisive attack againts a numerically superior enemy can be audacious and successful...unless Sheridan comes galloping back from Winchester and turns the tables....

I'd love to see Red Storm Rising or Third World War. Doesn't Third World War reference Team Yankee? Which was then written based on third World War?

To bad that in the mid 90's you could have rented the Red Army to play itself.

How about an HBO series about Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser?
