As ungainly as it is beautiful. Fast, tough, versatile. F4U.
Yeah, I'd go for that one too. The F4 is a beauty. The P51D comes close, though.

Apart from the Beau I have to say I have a soft spot for the Boomerang. To some it has looks only a mother could love, but to me it's beautiful. It's just a pity it's performance didn't match it's punacious looks. Live footage of one in Broome, Western Australia a couple of years ago:-
